Sounds like you've got a use case where auto-sync would really benefit.
It's something we'll definitely consider for future releases.
We love hearing how users are using 3banana; thanks for sharing your story! – Hugh Johnson, on October 13, 2009 22:31

Aha, now I understand what's going on. I needed to put two and two together to remember that you are logging in with a Gmail account name.
In previous versions of the 3banana client, some people were typing in their Google credentials into the "Use your 3banana.com..." login method, expecting this to do the automatic login via their Google account. When this didn't work, they were becoming confused and concerned. So we added a feature whereby those logins get properly directed to Google's webpage for authentication, and then back to 3banana.
You should be able to click the "Use your Google account..." method just fine, logging into your Google account via the resultant web page (it's definitely totally expected, and again, none of your Google login information is shared with 3banana -- we're using standard OpenID protocols used all around the 'net).
If you try logging in this way and still can't see your notes, let me know, and we'll dig a little deeper.

Hm, I misinterpreted your original email, Doug. Apologies for the confusion.
Clicking "Use your 3banana.com..." button should immediately bring up a dialog box with input for your 3banana credentials. It should not bring up a browser window.
Are you sure you did not click the Google sign-in link below it?

Ed, would you be willing to try out some beta builds to see if we can track down the problem? If so, send us an email at android-feedback@3banana.com. Thanks!

We have a potential fix and we're looking for a Hero user who is experiencing the problem to verify that it works.
Please send an email to android-feedback+1.09@3banana.com if you'd like to help us out. Thanks!

Sorry about the inconvenience, Ed.
Does your myTouch have an SD card in it? Does it have free space?
How are you attaching a photo? There are several routes to that activity within the app: clicking on the camera icon on the main screen (next to "Enter A Private Note"), or editing a new or existing note and clicking the camera button at the bottom.
What happens if you try to add a photo from your Gallery (the gallery button is next to the camera button in the note editor)? Does it also force close every time? Or does this functionality succeed?
Any feedback you can give on these questions will help us track down your issue. Thanks!

Hugh Johnson replied on August 12, 2009 23:08 to the question "how do i use the gps functionality?" in Snaptic Inc.:
We're working on enhancements to all three 3banana flavors (the web interface, the Android and iPhone apps) to utilize the gathered GPS information in useful ways. For now, the GPS data captured when you create or edit a note is being stored with the note data for those future releases to take advantage of.
Stay tuned!

The card is mounted as read only? Since you mentioned you exported from another program to the card, I'm wondering if that was just a typo.
It's unlikely the other program's exports would be interfering; 3banana uses standard Android OS calls to get the location of the SD card in the filesystem, creates a folder named "3banana" at the top level of the card, and saves its files within that folder.
I suppose it's possible that HTC did something slightly odd with the Hero -- we don't have one here to test with, so we'll have to do a little research.
Had to been able to export with 3banana previously without issue, or is this the first time you'd tried?
