I would highly recommend Prowl (and preyfetcher.com) for adding push notifications to Tweetie. It's a push notification system that can send alerts from a desktop computer (typically via Growl) to your phone. Because Tweetie for Mac has already implemented growl alerts, all you have to do is download the Prowl plugin for Growl, and the Prowl app for your iPhone (and for those interested, it's a one time purchase, no reoccurring fees).
However... what really makes Prowl an awesome solution; it's more a push notification platform than desktop solution, encouraging users to build upon the open API with both desktop and web based services. Preyfetcher.com is a free online service that checks Twitter and publishes a Prowl notification automatically, no computer+Growl needed! And of course, Prowl supports app links, letting you open up Tweetie automatically when a Twitter push notification comes through. Heck, there's even WordPress plugin!
Though I switched to Echofon Pro a while ago, I still use Prowl on a daily basis. Super helpful, regardless of your twitter app of choice.-

A comment on the idea "Push Notification" in atebits:
I've been using Prowl since the week it was released, and it's usefulness extends far, far beyond Twitter notifications via Tweetie/Growl. I've integrated it with my Lightwave and After Effects rendering workflows, among other applications and events. It's essentially an extensible platform for push notifications on the desktop. Highly recommended!
That said, Twitter notifications via Prowl are lower on my list of favourite things - not only does it do you little good, since it won't open up a Twitter client on the phone, but Tweetie must be running at all times to publish the updates. For desktop notifications, Prowl can't be beat, but for Twitter... I'm switching over to TwitterFon (which is adding native Push notifications in the next month or two, and is faster than Tweetie on the iPhone, not to mention caching and automatic @+DM loading - both long standing requests of mine for Tweetie). – iaian7, on August 12, 2009 16:45

iaian7 replied on June 15, 2009 15:22 to the idea "TR.IM Account Integration" in atebits:
Logging into your Tr.im account online, you can link it to your Twitter account(s) fairly easily. Any URLs posted to the linked account(s) will automatically get added to your list of shortened links, and the statistics display. Tr.im API support in Tweetie would be awesome, but unless it's for adding an analytics display, I'm not sure it's really necessary.

This should negate the need for dedicated Tr.im API support in applications, save for easy access to the statistics! I'd really love a way to keep track of clickthroughs from my iPhone - currently, there's no such iPhone app.-

A comment on the idea "Integration of Safari's inspection window into Coda?" in Panic Inc:
Well said! After an investment in Coda, I find myself constantly going back to my "old" tools - Safari and CSSedit, because they're just hands down better at what they do. Making it worse, I can't seem to automatically update the server from Coda, something YummyFTP did on every save of a document.
A big issue with previewing/debugging/editing is, I think, the one-window design of Coda. Good for some things, terrible for others. You can edit code, or preview, but never at the same time, unless you create a new window, with the full UI, file manager, etc. Completely unnecessary! At the very least, implement panes so we can edit CSS code and preview at the same time! Same goes for debugging, previewing, and editing HTML/JS. – iaian7, on June 14, 2009 01:35

iaian7 replied on June 14, 2009 01:00 to the question "Automatically uploading file changes to server." in Panic Inc:
Agreed. Coda's lacklustre "live" preview, coupled with a project that uses PHP and JS, necessitates working in other programs (CSSedit for styles, Safari for preview / debugging), and the biggest problem I have right now is that server files (essential for PHP, regardless of my opinion on Coda's preview abilities!) aren't getting updated when I save a file, adding yet another step to the process.
Adding this as an option would be a great time saver!
Even better would be the ability to mark files to auto-sync. Instead of a global sync-everything-to-server setting in the preferences, just mark a few files that, when updated, will automatically be uploaded. It could easily be indicated with a little badge, just like how files currently have badges indicating sync status, save status, SVN status, etc.-

Pic.im (and Tr.im) support on iPhoneWhile TwitPic is ok, Pic.im is shorter and tracks statistics. Two features I'd love to have in the Tweetie iPhone app! The OS X client can already use both Tr.im and Pic.im, now I'm just waiting for the iPhone app to add these as well.-
