A comment on the question "google doc writer and image insert" in Google:

Neil, What about using Gears localserver to host the image currently on the clipboard. It shouldn't be to hard to do. The only thing left todo would be to have Gears transfer the image from the localserver to Google servers when the user hits CTRL + V. Granted that Gears settings for that website allowed this. Let me know what you think, i wouldn't mind doing some of the coding (on Gears). – ian, on July 22, 2008 21:26

What about Granting JavaScript access to the clipboard would that help?. This would require google docs's code to use the image it now has access to in the clip board and do an asynchronous upload, maybe?. I don't have much knowledge of borwser and javascript but should'nt that be possible.
