I agree with this and think it should be done via Twitter as it can then be done by text using a private (direct) message and through Twitter.com, various software applications, as well of course as sms text messages. For me this could be the difference between getting a premium account and not getting one.-

Ian shared an idea in twitterfeed on February 23, 2009 15:36:
Turn off Twitterfeed temporarily with a tweet.I would like to be able to turn off Twitterfeed temporarily with a tweet, for example "d twitterfeed stop 2h" to prevent a tweet being sent for two hours, or "d twitterfeed stop 2p" so that Twitterfeed does not tweet the next two posts from RSS feeds. Perhaps there is some way to do all this specifying a particular feed.
Personally I get articles I Digg on digg.com sent to Twitter via Twitterfeed. Sometimes I don't want a post I Digg to be tweeted, either because I don't feel it should be or because too many Diggs have been sent to Twitter recently.
Ian asked a question in SocialToo on February 21, 2009 16:27:
Support multiple Twitter accountsI would like to see support for more than one Twitter account. Web Designers and Social Media consultants can then manage their clients social media activity all in place. I suggest two accounts from each website (Twitter, Facebook etc.) to be free and any more should incur a cost, and that cost will mean responsibility to them.-

Ian asked a question in Urge Me on February 03, 2009 00:47:
Email frequency & TwitterI like Urge Me but I would like to change the frequency and make use of Twitter. For example something I want to finish by next month, should be every few days in the penultimate week and every day in the final week. With Twitter, I think the reminder should be sent as a Direct Message.-

Ian asked a question in Brightkite on January 05, 2009 12:14:
How do I find out my password without email address?I have two Brightkite accounts for some unknown reason, I don't know if they are connected but I get two updates from some people (one from each account). For one of the accounts, I only have the username, nothing more, I don't know the registered email address, so how can I recover the login details? Can an email address be used for more than one account?
Ian replied on January 01, 2009 16:15 to the question "Why won't Twitter won't update my Facebook status after username change?" in Twitter:
I'm not surprised with the lack of response over the holidays, but I hope that this messages reminds Twitter of this unanswered question, so that I may resolve it soon.
I was thinking what would be fantastic would be if I could Direct Message Facebook and have that message show up as my Facebook. The same applies for other services, such as Ping.fm, which would reupdate my status on all my networks.
Ian asked a question in Twitter on December 21, 2008 11:44:
Why won't Twitter won't update my Facebook status after username change?Since changing my Twitter username, I can't get the Twitter Facebook app (developed by Twitter Inc.) to update my Facebook status from the correct account. I've looked through the settings but found no help. My old username now belongs to another auto-updating Twitter account that I also use. If I set the Facebook app to update my status, it takes tweets from the auto-updating account.
I have removed and added again the Twitter app on Facebook but it made no difference.
Thanks for your help.
A comment on the update "Decrease in followers: suspended accounts removed from followers pages" in Twitter:
The number of followers isn't important to me, the conversation is and the more people (mutual following) in the conversation, the richer and more varied the conversation is. That's not to say I follow everyone back, only those that are relevant or reply at some time. I could have over 1000 followers easily if I was purely interested in more followers. – Ian, on December 19, 2008 16:44

I'm glad to see this, I lost about 10% of my followers from two Twitter accounts, though one lost 58 followers and the other lost about 20 followers, and now I get to relive breaking the 500 follower barrier all over again! If you want to help, you can follow me @ianmayman and I may follow you back. :o)
Ian replied on November 27, 2008 17:05 to the question "SMS is *not* supported so please don't claim that it is." in Ping.fm:
Still hoping for SMS support. In the UK (and often outside USA), to send by SMS, you would send it to a UK number something like +447123 123 123 as shown by Twitter and Brightkite, never to an email address, that is just the American perception of SMS. The vast majority of the world is not the same as America and does not have SMS email, zip codes or the other things that so many American sites seem to assume the rest of the world has.
With mobile technology however, Europe is actually far ahead of America, which is why iPhone 3G came out only when American 3G coverage grew.
