Turn off messages on the Treasuremytext homepage. You need to change the default "Share messages on the Treasuremytext homepage" to OFF right now.
A load of my private messages appeared there and are still accessible, and I've just seen a message clearly private because it included detailed login information for a person.
Another message on there is from a girl giving her first name and surname was texting about her sex life - interesting but obviously private.-

Ian asked a question in Treasuremytext on November 14, 2008 16:06:
Privatise specific folders.I would like to set certain folders as private so that I can make the rest of the messages public. For example, a joke can be public and brighten the day of my Twitter followers, but I wouldn't want some texts from my girlfriend sent to Twitter!
It might also be useful for some people, when a lot of messages are saved, if sub-folders are an option.-

Ian asked a question in Twitter on November 09, 2008 13:46:
Why can't Twitter username contain the word "admin"?I've just found Twitter usernames can't contain the word "admin". Why not?!!
It's annoying if you have admin company, it means I can't have my company name.

There is an Ian, I think "ian" is my username, I am logged into Soocial now and at the top left it says " Hello ian, Log out ", and I have 91 contacts. Also I have never been able to sync my E65 and I get the same result as described by others above, except the error says "connection error", it records every attempt as a successful sync. My contacts came from my OS X Address Book.

I have the same problem with my Nokia E65. Installation goes fine. I follow sync instructions, I get "connection error" message. My phone does get online using my network (Vodafone UK) connection and also via wifi. After the attempt it appears to have synced as there is a last synced time, but it hasn't.
I have backed up my contacts just in case. I am also trying your main rival service, but I think they only sync between phones, not GMail, Address Book etc. but that does sync my phone easily and automatically.-

Ian replied on October 24, 2008 20:51 to the question "Can I use another service to initiate Ping.fm's replication?" in Ping.fm:
I have just set this up quite easily, but as Adam says, be very careful or you will annoy a lot of people and lose friends and followers fast. Here's how you do it:
1. On your Ping.fm dashboard, click the "Post by E-mail" link in the right column, that will show you your ping.fm email address.
2. Go to http://www.rssfwd.com/ and register an account using your Ping.fm email address.
3. Add your RSS feeds and save.
I suggest feeds from Digg, Flickr, and your blog, but never feeds from websites you do not run, unless the feed is just for your account only, because others may not share your interest.
Note if you currently have these feeds sent to Twitter via a service such as Twitter feed, then delete those feeds, as RSS FWD will send it via Ping.fm
I hope that helps. I've just set this up, I think I've done it right and hope now that I won't get a lot of messages going round!
Ian replied on October 24, 2008 20:06 to the question "Can I use another service to initiate Ping.fm's replication?" in Ping.fm:
I think it should be quite simple (for an expert coder). Gather the articles by RSS and then replicate them across all networks with a block on sending it to the domain it came from. The domain being the full address from http:// up to .com/.net etc
It wouldn't work however for social networks because the user identification is usually after the .com/.net so perhaps the answer is to block feed from social networks.

A comment on the problem "Ping.Fm down?" in Ping.fm:
I said "I have just transferred a number of domain names that are crucial to my business, since then I have been reading a lot of bad publicity. I was alerted to this on Twitter, which GoDaddy appears to ignore".
I gave them links to this discussion and later in the email I said:
" The fact you're taking so long to fix ping.fm suggest the accusations could be right.".
I never mentioned Ping.fm in any other part of the email.

I replied doing my best not to question their intelligence(!) and I'm now waiting for their reply. I'm glad my host is another company - their support teams takes all of five minutes to reply, and usually gets it right!! I want GoDaddy to tell me they won't screw things up for, then if they do, I will hold them accountable. – Ian, on October 21, 2008 23:18
