Missing linksEarlier, I used to get like 50 tweeted links everyday (I follow 300+ people who are eager linkers), and the last 6 - six - days only 4 - four - links have come through. I am OBVIOUSLY missing A LOT of links. Yes, I am using Google Reader.

Here's my suggestion to how the @replies-settings could have been explained easier, and with simpler design, and then we wouldn't have needed to have discussion in the first place:

I'm on Twitter. http://twitter.com/idaAa
I mean, this is the explanation they used to have:

Yes, that's a work around. But @bardvegar is just one of the people I enjoy following this away, it's more like 70 people. I cannot have 70 saved searches to keep on top of this.
Plus it is much more conveniet to get it into my feed.
But thank you, anyway! – Idaa, on May 13, 2009 15:14

This can not have been properly thought through.
I have chosen the "show all @replies option". Here is one obvious example of why this is useful, and cannot be solved by following more people:
I'm Norwegian, one of the people I follow in Twitter is Norway's minister of education (@bardvegar). He actually updates Twitter himself, and answers questions.
I will not be able to see the answers the minister of education sends out, unless I am already following the people asking the question.
This takes away almost all of the value of following him. It's the REPLIES to QUESTION - regardless of who asked them - I am interested in.
This is just one example, but there are a lot of users I am interested in following in this way.-

Coding is one thing, I'm talking about the user interface. If you add too much functionality it will make it more difficult to use, especially for new users.
And even though #followfriday is a big trend, out of all Twitter users, how many are actually part of this? Probably a lot less than the people who use a convention like "Retweet" for instance, which has it's on functionality in DestroyTwitter.-

The new beta version screws up the links! If I click a link like "http://tinyurl.com/d6y78u" DestroyTwitter turns it into "http://www. http.com//tinyurl.com/d6y78u"
I can of course fix this manually, but it's not exactly convenient..
I am using Firefox 3 on a Macbook-

Filter Rules are great, but could be even betterFirst of all, i LOVE DestroyTwitter.
But, the suggestions:
1. "Include only links"-rule could be improved by letting you say
"From these people, include only the tweets that contain links"
For instance, if I follow some way people who are way too chatty, but
still post really interesting links, "exclude" doesn't do the job
2. Twitter has a general setting for @replies (http://blog.twitter.com/
2008/05/how-replies-work-on-twitter-and-how.html), it would be great
if DestroyTwitter had a similar setting, but for individual users, for
instance letting you say
"From these people, show only @ replies from people I am following" or
"From these people, show no @ replies"
This again for people who are way too chatty but still do tweet really
interesting stuff often enough.
With more complex rules, there are no need for groups, as in
TweetDeck..
(And sorry about the triple-posting, your site isn't really clear about where you prefer to get feedback.. Google, Message or GetSatisfaction..)
