We currently don't support unicode characters, unfortunately. It is on our list of things to support, though.

Non-ASCII character hangs adding of placemark.Adding a placemark with a non-ASCII character results in hung page. I tried to add a placemark name as inf?z and it hung the page. I then reloaded the page and correctly added the placemart as infuz. That is the u-with-macron character, but I suspect it'll happen with any non-ASCII character.
