Mateusz, I think this is not quite right. It's definitely not impossible to do so. The real problem is just with the BBcode linked usernames in shoutboxes, wikis, journals and forum posts on Last.fm. There would be a lot of broken links if people could change their usernames. See here, here and here.

So it is a possible future feature, but probably unlikely to happen though. – inh, on April 03, 2009 10:11
