Intrade FAQ replied on July 18, 2008 14:49 to the question "Are then any fees for making a withdrawal?" in Intrade:
There is a $20.00 fee charged for a withdrawal by bank wire. The receiving bank, or any intermediary bank the wire transfer is routed through may charge a fee. Intrade do not cover these fees should they be charged.
There is no fee charged for check withdrawal. Your bank may charge a fee for lodging the check and you should contact you bank to find out their policy on this.
Please note that there is also a $10.00 processing fee per withdrawal once you request more than two withdrawals per calendar month. The first two withdrawals requested per calendar month are not charged this fee.

Intrade FAQ replied on July 18, 2008 14:44 to the question "How much can I withdraw?" in Intrade:
You can withdraw any or all of your available account balance at anytime. The minimum withdrawal amount is $25.00 however, unless closing your account and requesting your final account balance.
You cannot however withdraw any funds frozen to cover trades you have made, or any non-withdrawable Trading Credits you may have in your account.
The Exchange also has the right to hold any withdrawal requests until any recent deposits have been fully cleared or while investigating any account irregularities (such as suspicions of fraud or money-laundering).

Intrade FAQ replied on July 18, 2008 14:41 to the question "How long does a withdrawal take to process?" in Intrade:
A check will typically take 7-14 days to be drawn, mailed from Ireland and delivered to the United States. It should take less than ten days for a check sent to a European country. Once the check leaves our office it is then in the hands of the postal services so it can be very hard to estimate exactly when a check will be delivered.
A bank wire will generally take 2-5 banking days to be completed.

Intrade FAQ replied on July 18, 2008 14:39 to the question "How can I withdraw funds from my account?" in Intrade:
You can withdraw funds by requesting a check or bank wire transfer.
To request a withdrawal please login to your account, visit the Account screen and look for the withdrawal options in the menu bar down the side of the page. Click on the method you wish to use and follow the on-screen instructions.
Please note that we will not accept withdrawal requests by phone, email or over Live Help. You must login to your account and make the request yourself.
You can request your check be sent via FedEx for a $30.00 fee. This can be done by emailing help@intrade.com and asking for your withdrawal to be sent by FedEx. If you wish to have your check sent via FedEx please ensure you have $30.00 in your account to cover the fee. If this is not done the check will be sent by normal mail.

Intrade FAQ replied on July 18, 2008 14:37 to the question "Do I earn interest on my account balance?" in Intrade:
Intrade will pay interest on a quarterly basis if you maintain a cash balance of at least $20,000.00 for the entire quarter. Interest will not be paid for account balances that do not meet this condition.
The interest rate used will be that published on the last business day of the quarter by the Wall Street Journal. The bank rate for interest accruing checking accounts will typically be used for interest calculations.
Interest will be calculated on a quarterly basis and applied to your account within 190 days following the end of the quarter. Quarters are defined as calendar quarters - January to March, April to June, July to September and October to December.

Intrade FAQ replied on July 18, 2008 14:35 to the question "How do I know my funds are safe?" in Intrade:
There are several reasons why your funds are safe with the Exchange:
• Intrade is a registered Republic of Ireland company that operates in full accordance with Irish and European Union business law.
• All member funds (including yours) are held in a segregated account with National Irish Bank, one of Ireland largest banks. This segregated account is completely separate from the Intrade’s own reserves and operating accounts.
• The Exchange is safer by design. If the Dow Jones crashes the New York Stock Exchange does not go bankrupt, and in the same way Intrade doesn’t lose money when an unusual result arises. When you trade we freeze the amount of funds required to cover your potential loss, which is then transferred to the member on the other side of your trade as profit in the event that you do lose. Therefore, all potential losses are therefore covered and all potential winnings are provided for

Intrade FAQ replied on July 18, 2008 14:22 to the question "I am having problems depositing by credit card. What can I do?" in Intrade:
Unfortunately most US banks will refuse to authorise any deposits by credit card. This is due to the policy of the bank in question and is not the decision or the policy of the Exchange. Many banks now refuse to authorise transactions with certain classes of merchants and is not specific to this Exchange. Many non-US banks have also adopted this policy.
If you attempt a credit card deposit and receive a message indicating your bank is refusing to authorise the transaction then all we can do to help is recommend a different method of depositing funds . Unfortunately we have no way of accepting credit card deposits if your bank is not willing to allow the transactions
