I'm missing UML supportWould be nice to add UML support to this app, it's looking promising so far.

login screen doesn't work with 1Password(this means blind people can't use it either, but you're not targeting those I guess :))
iwein replied on February 06, 2009 11:33 to the problem "iCal integration with Tripit doesn't sync properly" in Dopplr:
Problem solved. Could very well be related to the problems you mentioned, but I wouldn't know. What I do know is that the import happened correctly in the end without my intervention.
What would be interesting to see is how long it takes for the import to happen if you keep hammering on refresh after you made a change in tripit. I have no intention of doing that test anytime soon, but if I happen to find out at some point I'll post back here.

iCal integration with Tripit doesn't sync properlySyncing with my Tripit calendar shows the old state even after a refresh. I'm also using Tripit through their ical feed in iCal, the updates have happened there. It seems I have to unsubscribe/subscribe to get the changes picked up by Dopplr though.
One of the changes is a delete, that might make a difference.
A comment on the problem "wuala crashes with large batch of uploads" in Wuala:
Still running strong with 544 transfers and dropping atm. It seems that the number of pending transfers dropped below the bug threshold on it's own. I'm getting very curious about the code :) – iwein, on November 11, 2008 10:21
A comment on the problem "wuala crashes with large batch of uploads" in Wuala:
It is rather interesting indeed. I just restarted wuala. Now it is continuing the uploads without a crash so far.
I'm on a Mac, so the behavior might be specific to that OS.
What I noticed though is first of all that process name is null (from Activity monitor). I've seen this before and I don't think it's directly related to this bug.
Second thing is that the number of threads is quite high. With the last crash the GUI went away, but there still was a 'null' process with 46 threads left. Now the number of threads is shifting between 52 and 53 with CPU usage around 15%
I'll take note of the time it takes before crashing. So far it is just uploading at near optimal speed, so I'm not complaining. – iwein, on November 11, 2008 09:30

Don't "the uploads itself will get fetched" and "puh. can you proof if the uploads are still running" contradict? I have no idea what you're saying apparently. – iwein, on November 11, 2008 08:39
A comment on the problem "wuala crashes with large batch of uploads" in Wuala:
does this mean that all I have to do is wait for the upload and then everything will be ok again? I don't mind missing the GUI for a few days, as long as I know that it is still doing something. – iwein, on November 10, 2008 09:34

Another interesting thing is that there is a wuala process still active, just the UI crashes. If this means the upload is still ongoing I have no problem waiting for it to finish, however, it seems the network traffic has dropped, so I suspect a hang of one of the processes rather than a full crash.
A comment on the problem "wuala crashes with large batch of uploads" in Wuala:
that's weird. why can't wuala batch them up for me, that's how I'd implement it... Is there a bugtracker I can follow? I really just want to wait for the fix instead of going over the exercise of organizing the pictures again. – iwein, on November 09, 2008 17:57

wuala crashes with large batch of uploadsI've added my 5gb picture collection to wuala. There was a warning wuala might become unresponsive, but that didn't seem like a problem to me. Now I've left it running for about 18 hours and a large portion of the collection is uploaded successfully. However, wuala crashed and it crashes continuously when I try to open it again.
iwein replied on October 25, 2008 17:34 to the problem "bucket name is not descriptive enough for AMI" in CohesiveFT:
Having control over the bucket that is used for my ESOD AMI is very nice, but it doesn't solve the problem I'm having.
In my specific case though, I have AMI's created outside of ESOD that are grouped in buckets. I think it is also important to show some information related to the manifest to distinguish between AMI's in the same bucket.

iwein reported a problem in CohesiveFT on October 24, 2008 12:25:
bucket name is not descriptive enough for AMIAMI's are named after bucket they're in. This doesn't work if you put multiple AMI's in the same bucket. A proper name would be <bucket_name>/<manifest_file_name>.
Now I see AMI's I created outside of EC2 and can't see which is which.</manifest_file_name></bucket_name>

Two things I just ran into which block me from moving my AMI's to CohesiveFT:
- allow user data to be passed into the server instance (on amazon you can get your user data from a url, but it would be nice if the mechanism was the same for other virtualization techs)
- allow instances to be put into ec2 security groups. This is pretty neat for clustering and allows instances talk on private dns without having to open up the outside firewall.

Date validation is inconsistent? After typing a perfectly valid date I got an error saying the date was invalid. The format in the error message matched the date exactly. Anyone had that before?
