It has happened on several occasions. And if you look around here you will see that their rep keeps saying they are working on it but after a year and more I don’t think they really care. To claim they have not yet replicated this issue is ludicrous. A real software developer would never allow the same serious bug - that apparently destroys data - to be present in multiple successive versions. I don't know what that makes Foxmarks...

New Foxmarks Version Upgrade Messed Up Firefox Toolbars
What was that? I just received a notification about a new Foxmarks upgrade and installed it. Upon the required Firefox restart all of my toolbars are a complete mess! All customizations on the Menu Bar are gone, Google Toolbar looks like someone chopped it up and throw all the pieces around. Why would Foxmarks do something to affect all other toolbars? Was this even tested at all? I think you just lost me - this is not the first time I had a Firefox installation get messed up by Foxmarks: V.1 to V.2 was also screwed-up.

I agree with mathys about Toodledo. Excellent for task/to-do management, great reminder functions, and flexible emailing of tasks to it. The developer is very active daily in his forum and responds quickly to feature suggestions and requests, though he does keep a priority list and sticks to it as long as the top items on it were all requested by the most members.

Doesn’t do what Sandy does but it is a good start to at least manage your to-do's and reminders.

Oh well... It was kinda fun while it lasted. Just another reinforcement of my tenet to NOT rely on any free applications. This is why I purchase my software!

    Thanks Rael.

    J-Mac
That "13 cents a day to pay for Jott" is a sunk cost whether you use Jott each of those days or not. And it totals up to almost $50 a year. Plus, that only gets you 15 second Jotts. I find that if I try to get what I want to get to Sandy into a 15 second Jott, the transcription is unreadable, senseless. And if you want to have 30 seconds per Jott message, which you will most likely need in order to spell out the words that Jott chokes on, you'll be paying about $150 per year!

    Nah - not me!

    Hi Rael.

I primarily use either Gmail or Fastmail's web mail interface. Neither are very unique or unusual.

Just to update you, I received even more odd reminders from Sandy today, and none are supposed to be active - even according to my Sandy web page.. Seems like whatever I direct her to do she still is intent on reminding me. Can't be my PC, I don't think, as I just reinstalled Windows this past weekend. So this is effectively a "new" machine, OS-wise.

For now I have used "Forget" on all items on my Sandy page. I need to slow down the replies.

Thanks for anything you can do to help.

Rael, thank you for your reply. Please see my reply to norbiq above for an example. This is occurring daily in one form or another.

Obviously I've been a little frustrated!

norbiq - I've about memorized the darn thing. But Sandy is apparently a lot like my first wife and doesn't pay attention at all. I received a reminder tonight about a ToDo for an event that occurred at 9 am this morning. Now the event is past, correct? But Sandy was telling me she would remind me about it again tomorrow morning - and I don't really feel I should have to act on an event in the past.

But I followed the guide and replied with the following exactly:

    "Sandy, u #1 @done"

That should mark it as done, correct? (This reminder email referred to the event as "#1", and it was the only event contained in that email from Sandy).

Two minutes later I received an email from Sandy saying that she has updated an event that did not exist - at least I never created it. It is worded:

    Sandy [iwantsandy.com

    * Scheduled for Thu, 2/14/2008 1:15pm

Did Sandy create that herself? Now that is labeled #1, and the event I was replying about, the one scheduled for this morning that I updated as @done is shown on the website as NOT having the @done tag and is active.

So why & how did Sandy create a new event based on my update of a reminder from her for an existing event? Why wasn't the event, the only one in that email and numbered as #1, updated with the @done tag? My reply email is worded exactly as shown in the Guide, isn't it? Starts with "Sandy", uses the "u" shortcut for "Update", then one space, then #1, then the tag "@done".

She's been doing this for a month and a half now and it is causing more work to try and fix then I bargained for.

A reply to my own Problem: Marking an event/todo/ or whatever would be a lot easier if I could just reply to a received reminder or digest with a command to mark it as Done. As it is now I must click on the link for that item, which opens the browser on my Blackberry, then Login to I Want Sandy - which is a pain on a Blackberry because either the device or the site (not sure which) does not remember the login status, and then mark it as Done.

    Thanks!

Sandy Keeps Reminding After Due Date Reached.
When I send an email to Sandy asking to remind me about a specific event on a given date and time, most reminder systems/programs will remind me at a selected time prior to the due date and time, and then stop. No more reminders for any event past the assigned due date/time - unless it is specifically set up to "Repeat". Currently I can see no way to stop these endless reminders except to write and ask, or visit the web site and mark the event as "Done". Not sure what in the heck "Forget" is supposed to be - I can do that all by myself. Why name a feature with such ambiguity? What exactly does "Forget" do? All I really need to know how to do is the following"

    1) Create an event and assign a reminder.

    2) Ensure it is setup to send me the reminder at the assigned date/time prior to the event's assigned time.

    3) Stop reminding me about any event whose assigned date/time has passed - unless I set it up otherwise.

As it is I am never quite sure what I am asking of Sandy. Terms should be somewhat intuitive and standardized, as opposed to "cute".

    Thanks.

How can I remove tags from the "My Tags" area?
I want to delete tags that I didn't add, like "Samples". Sandy added that when I signed up. BTW, are these even being read by anyone in the company? A lot of unanswered posts from quite along time ago.

    Alex,

Thank you for that reply. Doesn't have much to do with days of the week, nor with Sandy, though it IS making me hungry; and.. Hmm.. I wonder if Sandy would want to go out and enjoy a late dinner with me.....

Sandy Wants to Add My Own Email Address as a Friend?
I just noticed this for the first time: I sent a few emails from my mobile device to my Sandy email address as reminders. When I saw the email messages on my PC, the first sentence is Sandy thanking me for introducing her to ME, at the same email address I have registered as my primary address for sandy! And she wants me to click on a link to set myself up as a friend - to me.

Just a little bit weird. Sandy should definitely recognize that this email address is my registered email address for Sandy.

I agree! And I don't think that my "part of the world" should have any bearing on this. I'm in the USA and the "normal" for the USA is that Sunday is the start of the week. I have never understood this myself. The work week here is from Monday through Friday, with Saturday and Sunday referred to as "the weekend". That being the case, Monday should always be the first day of the week, and the following Sunday should be the last day. While I am certain that I will never be able to change the perception by many in the USA that have the warped belief that Sunday is somehow the start of the week, the ability to set the week starting day by the user is an important concept IMO>

    Thanks!
