Hi Jon,
These limitations really do make the synchronization feature pretty useless for those with a large set of organized bookmarks.

Thanks so much for getting back to me. The delicious comma adding hack works - but yeah, for 100 or so tags it might be a bit of a nuisance. Keep me posted on any fixes from your end - I would also be stoked to hear of any alternative solutions if you see one. Thanks again mate. Jeremy – j_zhill, on June 24, 2009 20:48

Incorrect tag interpretation when importing bookmarks from delicious.Importing delicious bookmarks via the web interface presents a BIG problem: as far as I can see, xmarks interprets multiple space-separated tags from delicious as one long tag once imported into firefox! Spaces between tags should be converted to commas for firefox.
ie delicious tags "xmarks bookmarks personal database" is FOUR tags not one long one! It ought to be converted to "xmarks, bookmarks, personal, database" when imported into xmarks.
I've been trying to get my delicous bookmarks, with tags, imported into xmarks. Why is this difficult? Firefox doesn't read tag information from the .html file from delicious. Converting the html to .json is troublesome. The online xmarks import service is limited to the most recent 100.
I settled for importing the most recent 100 then deleting them, then repeating that process. Now the tags are garbled!
Aaaarrrgh.

Sharing my.xmarks.com?Are there plans to include a sharing feature in xmarks? Xmarks is my favourite bookmarking product, and with the new discovery features it seems as if the product is moving towards delicious. Alternatively, are there plans for closer delicious intergration?
j_zhill asked a question in Xmarks on March 02, 2009 22:18:
View my.xmarks.com by tagsIs there a way of viewing bookmarks by tag in the online interface at my.xmarks.com? I'm sure there is, but it doesn't seem very obvious. It seems kinda silly to duplicate the folder structured viewing system in the "list view"... there could at least be a column indicating which tags each bookmark has. It would be useful to keep the 'firefox-replicated' view while also having a tag oriented delicious-style view.
j_zhill replied on March 02, 2009 22:11 to the question "is there a way to autotag all my bookmarks ?" in Xmarks:
I would love to see an auto tag feature added to xmarks. Tags are the way to go, and the suggested tags feature is really useful. Unfortunately, I'm new to tagging my bookmarks which means that the bulk of my library is untagged.
I did find that if I import all my bookmarks to delicious, apply the autotag feature, then export them all back to firefox I could get them all tagged. However, this is laborious and brutal. I'd much rather keep it in house... I'm not sure how hard it is to add an auto-tagging feature, but it would be a great addition to the suggested tag engine.-

Xmarks and development.I'm really excited about Xmarks. It indicates to me that this application is under active development. The new discovery engine is a smart complement to the sync/backup engine.

'tag' button theme incompatabilityI've just installed the delicious ffox addon. I'm also using the classic compact theme on my eeepc 701. When visiting a bookmarked site, the 'tag' button doesn't scale, and resizes the navigation bar. The button scales nicely when you're on an unbookmarked site.
Would it be possible to add a small scale icon for the highlighted 'add' button?
