This is the Dell old problem "The AC power adapter type cannot be determined. Your system will operate slower and the battery will not charge. Please connect a Dell 90W AC adapter or higher for best system operation"

The Dell laptop battery system has something wrong with its motherboard.
Jacksmith replied on October 23, 2009 03:23 to the problem "Dell Inspiron 1520 Battery Won't Charge" in Dell:
Just ask dell to change its motherboard or download the inspiron 1520 battery bios update in dell support.
All I want to say I want to fk the dell battery 1 year warranty, the batteries also broken in 13 months and 14 moths.

15 inch MacBook Pro Battery Tests
15 inch MacBook Pro Battery Tests:

AnandTech takes a look at the new MacBook Pro battery s released at WWDC last week and focuses on the new non-removable battery design. Apple first introduced the non-removable battery into the 17" Unibody MacBook Pro last fall with mixed reactions from the community. Apple's reasoning behind making the battery custom and non-removable has been the ability to incorporate a larger battery that will provide even longer battery life. They've also argued that most laptop owners do not carry spare batteries.
Anandtech does a good job exploring the technology behind the design:
Apple did some clever work on its own here. Standard lithium ion batteries are made up of cylindrical cells, similar to AA Laptop battery . The problem with these batteries is that they waste a lot of space within a notebook (try cramming a lot of cylinders into a box, you end up with wasted space). This wasted space translates into larger batteries than are necessary, which makes for larger notebooks.
They found the 15" MacBook Pro battery got an additional 46% of battery capacity with no additional weight. Improvements were dramatic in their benchmark testing:

The new 15" MacBook Pro battery clocked in at over 8 hours in their light load benchmark. The findings did carry over proportionately in their more intensive tests compared to the older models. Andandtech concludes with a very positive impression of Apple's latest revision:
Ever since I first looked at the power consumption specs of Nehalem I thought it didn?t make any sense to buy a new, expensive notebook before Arrandale?s launch in Q4 2009/Q1 2010. While performance will definitely increase considerably with Arrandale, Apple just threw a huge wrench in my recommendation. The new MacBook Pro battery is near perfect today. If you need a new laptop now, thanks to its incredible battery life, I have no qualms recommending the new MBP.

Maintain batteries for daily use and maintenance
Maintain batteries for daily use and maintenance

Notebook computer battery is the consumables, the battery once opened, will begin the process of aging. With the aging of the chemical characteristics of cells vary. Aging with the use of normal methods. If the frequent charge-discharge of dell laptop batteries, it will accelerate the aging batteries. Battery life over a period of time, power will gradually shorten the time until the can not be used. Therefore shorten the battery life is a normal situation. Most of you who normally use an external power supply, like not using the laptop battery, but a matter of fact, the aging process of the battery over time has been less of the battery can only delay the process, but can not make it stop.
The impact of factors such as battery life:
Battery charge / release number of the use of the environment temperature (30 °C suggested that the use of temperatures below computer) battery storage temperature
Shock suffered by the size of the battery
Battery using must follow the below "principles"
1. AC Adapter (external power adapter) mode, use the battery if it has not gone through charge / discharge process, the life will be longer than the normal battery.
2. A smaller number of charge and discharge a certain extent, can extend battery life.
3. In the indoor temperature above 35 °C, the battery wear and tear than the normal speed when the temperature much faster.
4. Throw, hit, etc. batteries will also accelerate battery depletion.
Application of the following battery will significantly shorten the working hours.
- The use of CD-ROM drive, such as DVD, CDROM and CDRW drives.
- The use of wireless communications equipment, an external PC card or USB device.
- The use of high-brightness display settings laptop battery, 3D screen savers or other programs, such as 3D games.
- In the highest performance mode of operation of the computer, power management program that is set to "always open" or "Max Battery mode."
- The activities of procedures, including procedures for running in the background.
- LCD brightness (LCD more light, the greater the power consumption).

Jacksmith replied on July 09, 2009 07:10 to the problem "HP Pavilion DV6500 Laptop - Black screen - 6mths old." in HP:
There are something wrong with the connector wires with the LCD to main board when your laptop working too long the wires may disconnect as the hot temperature. So I suggest you take your HP DV6000 battery to repair center, no other ways.
Hopes that help you.

Most HP notebook LCD screen have this problem, and HP dont want to recall these problem notebook, I am so disappoint by my HP DV2000.
Any my HP DV2000 battery only can last about 2hours after used one month. But the HP says that is fine, I am so angry.
