A comment on the idea "Help with Scansnap" in QCDocs:
Aside from our basic Scansnap S300 setup document, our documentation concentrates on QCDocs. I encourage you to call Fujitsu. From our experience they are very helpful in helping Scansnap users solve unique problems. – Jahzel Misner, on June 02, 2009 16:39

Hi Pradeep, I haven't encountered this problem. Have you tried removing the Scansnap files in safe mode? – Jahzel Misner, on June 02, 2009 16:04

One client followed these steps and was still not able to use her Scansnap. After calling Fujitsu they have determined that the problem was caused by a missing Windows file. If the above steps don't work for you, please try this:
1. Download http://www.qcdocs.com/download/fujits...
2. Unzip the file
3. Copy the file to C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color

Please take a look at the image attached. The section I outlined in red is the feature you are having issues with. The purpose of this feature is to bypass your scanner's default scanning software. The problem is that not all scanners are supported. However, it is just as easy to use your default scanning software. In fact, I prefer this method since the default software often has more control on image quality.
Please try this:
1. Scan using your scanner's software. Take note of the folder that your scanner saves to.
I have my scanner set to save to a folder on my desktop. (E.g. C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\fip)
2. In QCDocs, select 'Setup' in the menu.
3.Select the Paths tab, and change the Scanned Images Folder to the same folder that your scanner saves to.
4. Your scans will now automatically show up in the QCDocs Acquire screen. Press the refresh button to see new scans.
In the attached image you can see that I have documents 2.bmp and 3.bmp in my folder. Those same documents also show up in the QCDocs Acquire screen.
Tip: The 'Scanned In' folder is not restricted to scans. For example if you are emailed a document, you can drag that document into that folder to be uploaded into QCDocs.

There are 2 reasons you might see this error.
1. You are using Windows 2000 Operating system. QCDocs does not support the Windows 2000 Operating systems.
2. Router and firewall issue. If you can access your Internet but cannot access QCDocs Desktop confirm with your IT provider that you have outbound access to Port 1433 and 1001. We have encountered 1 client who's Internet provider was blocking port 1433. A solution to this is port forwarding.

Help with ScansnapPlease follow these steps if you are having trouble installing your Scansnap scanner.
1. Unplug the scanner and uninstall the Scansnap programs. Many people make the mistake of plugging their scanner in before installing the software. This will cause you trouble!
2. Install the Scansnap software. You will be prompted to restart your computer.
3. A Scansnap icon will appear on your taskbar. (Lower right toolbar)
4. Right click the icon, select 'Help' and 'Online Update'.
5. If an update is available, download and install it. You may be prompted to restart your computer.
6. Plug in your scanner.
7. A new hardware notice will appear and automatically install the Scansnap driver.
8. Configure your Scansnap to your preferences.
There is a comprehensive guide on the training site that suggests the best settings for QCDocs Systems. http://training.qcdocs.com
If you need a little help with the settings take a look at this short video on Scansnap profiles.

This issue has been resolved via telephone.
If you experience this issue please note that documents will be displayed in a different viewer depending on whether it's a pdf or an image. When viewing a pdf you can scroll down to see the next page. When viewing an image, you will need to press the Next and Previous buttons to navigate the pages.
A development request has been submitted to make the controls consistent between the 2 views. Thank you Cheryl for your suggestion.
