But then the question should have been "not more than 1km away" or something like that.
I mean, if India makes a prison out of Dehli, as i think ABC put it, that's probably the closest the protesters could get, and therefore they even got arrested. -

Of course the torch relay was not as violent as others before, but i have quite a different perception of a peaceful relay. When several dozens of protesters are being put into custody and all the pictures you see where the people are almost fighting with police it's not peaceful in my opinion.
Just because they did not get closer to the torch, I don't know.
Only because for example G.W. Bush doesn't see violent protesters who are one or two kilometers away it doesn't mean that it was peaceful. -
