Jakub Nesetril replied on June 28, 2009 19:48 to the problem "Frame rate lag since OS 3.0 update" in Firemint:
I've had an occasional crash or two when the frame rate reached a real low and stayed there. However, most of the time no crashes either.
I seem to be able to reproduce a behavior where once the app slows down, I quit it and surf with Safari for about 10mins. After that, Real Racing performs OK for quite a while. Like the iPhone recovers from whatever state it got into.
If anybody from Firemint has problems reproducing this, get in touch with me, it happens all the time.
Here a video of what happens during low framerate to your not-all-that-bad laps
(6:50 is where the fun starts, watch 7:10 to 7:30 for some extra wierd stuff)

A comment on the problem "Frame rate lag since OS 3.0 update" in Firemint:
Turning to Airplane Mode doesn't resolve the problem for me. Neither does restarting the device (iPhone 1st gen). Definitely OS3 specific. It seems like if I launch the game, it's unusably choppy at first (lets say the first 5 races) then levels out a bit, plays smooth for next couple races and then goes back to unusable. And stays there. More details in my comment below. – Jakub Nesetril, on June 25, 2009 22:32-

Jakub Nesetril asked a question in Get Satisfaction on December 19, 2008 16:09:
State of login provisioning and accounts without emails? My company uses GetSatisfaction to facilitate user feedback and customer support for our online services. Currently, we have a sharp drop-off between people deciding to give feedback and people actually going through it, which we think is due to the necessity of signing up for yet another service.
I have tracked the discussion on the following 2 links:
http://getsatisfaction.com/getsatisfa...
http://getsatisfaction.com/getsatisfa...
My understanding is, that we can use OAuth to automatically create new user accounts in GetSatisfaction, but we have to provide email and name identity of the user to GetSatisfaction - and further, the users get to manage yet another account/password combination.
Since 7 months since the last activity on these issues, let me ask again:
* is there currently a way how to automatically create using OAuth an account that has authentication managed through our website (presumably using OpenID), while providing further user identity (name, email)?
* even better - is there currently a way how create new accounts just with an OpenID identity, without an email address?
* is there another / better way for us to implement a feedback system on top of GetSatisfaction where we do not have to disclose identity of users?
Thank you,
