James Cridland asked a question in BackType on October 22, 2009 10:42:
What short-link services are supported?Just wondering what short-link services are supported - is it only bit.ly, or would it correctly work out where http://muk.fm/52t goes, for example? (That's my own shortlink provider).
James Cridland asked a question in Dopplr on August 26, 2009 23:06:
How do I leave a group?I joined the BBC group a while back, but I leave there on September 2nd, and should probably leave the BBC group too. How do I do that, then?

James Cridland replied on January 07, 2009 00:14 to the problem "iPlayer occasionally switches to Welsh." in BBC:
Thanks for using this unofficial feedback mechanism. You're ordinarily best reporting this in the iPlayer discussion area on bbc.co.uk
However, I've chatted to my colleagues within the iPlayer: they're aware of the problem, and a fix will appear within the next two or three weeks.
Diolch yn fawr iawn for reporting this. (Is it happening here too?!)

James Cridland replied on January 01, 2009 16:43 to the question "Is border tv on the internet" in BBC:
ITV1 Border is not a BBC channel.
However, you can find local news from ITV1 Border at itvlocal.com/border and you can watch ITV1 itself at itv.com (where you can also use the ITV Player).
James Cridland replied on December 23, 2008 19:04 to the question "BBC iPlayer download problem" in BBC:
You might want to give the new beta downloader a go.
www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/labs to switch it on - then try downloading a programme and use the new Adobe-Air based player/downloader (which doesn't use the Kontiki base of the current one).
James Cridland replied on December 18, 2008 21:41 to the question "Why RealPlayer? Why Windows only? Why do I have to pay for this?" in BBC:
In terms of the iPlayer, we've quietly delivered the Mac downloading tool (which also works on Linux).

It's a BBC iPlayer Labs product - and available in beta right now: I've scribbled together a quick and unofficial blog entry on how.
Once more, I'm afraid it's UK only. :(

James Cridland replied on December 10, 2008 23:44 to the idea "Mac iplayer" in BBC:
Dear Mr or Mrs sdfsdfsdfsdfsdf,
The iPlayer has worked for Mac users since 25 December last year, when we enabled live streaming within the product.
A great number of my fellow inward-looking civil servants, during the brief time they are not inspecting the inside of their own body with their heads, are Mac users and wish to enable TV downloads on that platform - and Linux - as soon as possible. One of them said something that sounded interesting to me last week, but sadly, he was quite muffled - and I was inspecting the inside of my own body at the time, I didn't hear exactly what he said. It sounded quite interesting, though.
In other potentially unconnected news, the BBC Internet Blog has a full day devoted to the iPlayer on Friday.
Do have a splendid day, and thank you for using this, unofficial, way to contact the BBC. I wish the sdfsdfsdfsdfsdf family all the best.
