joe! like i reccomended to theresa, i say "write a professional-ish email to customerservice@timbuk2.com and we'll forward it onto the proper recipient." sound good? yes.
jamie replied on November 18, 2008 21:26 to the question "Help with a school project on Timbuk2 supply chain management" in Timbuk2:
harsh, mike! we do care about school and papers and gettin' smart. we do. but this isn't necessarily the best forum to ask a question like theresa's. we could answer pretty much anything concerning product (how it looks, feels, smells etc), service (where's my order?! how do i show my love? who was the owner of that cool voice on the phone?), or history (what was that bag that you had that one time with that thing on the side?), but supply chain management? not so customer-service-y. a great question, just asked in the wrong place. i'd suggest writing a professional-ish email to customerservice@timbuk2.com with specific questions that we could then forward onto the proper recipient. why professional-ish, you ask? because we want to know you're serious about writing this paper so we can be serious about helping you.
time for recess!

jamie replied on October 14, 2008 22:46 to the question "status of order no 5173588" in Timbuk2:
and what a great opportunity to re-explain the whole "business day" timing thing! we try to get orders out in about three business days. if you place an order over the weekend (sat or sun), that three business days = Mon, Tues, Wed. That's the goal. Some bags take longer (did you know that the pattern and work involved on the custom cargo tote and the lex pack are both more complex and time consuming? crazy!), and although we try to get those longer-process bags out just as fast, sometimes they take a smidgen longer.
so, moral of the story: if you order between friday and monday, give us til at least wednesday.
(we do understand, however, being all excited about your bag, and hoping it went out in the earlier part of "3 business days".)
enjoy your fancy new bag!

A comment on the problem "Order Problems, Zero Customer Service" in Timbuk2:
i'd like to disagree with you, doc. we don't think you're the enemy. we love our customers. granted, our response time has been slow, but every company has growing pains. we're sorry ours have affected our customers with such an impact lately. i can personally assure you (and the rest of the commenters) that we (those of us actually answering the phones and responding to your emails) are working very hard trying to get information flowing. like a river. that makes flowers grow. – jamie, on October 03, 2008 18:59

That's very odd, that the queue didn't work. We'll look into that. The tracking is also getting fixed as we speak and should be fully working within days. It is currently working for custom orders. When did you place your order? If you check for tracking before the order has shipped, UPS will say "nope. your order doesn't exist" because in their system it is exsistence-less until it ships. They're funny like that...

And? i think the colors in the bag builder aren't all that rotten. perhaps you have a refined pallet, and would prefer the colors that are being added mid-october. (and yes, clark was right. the more often we spruce up the colors, the less likely YOU are to have another person make the same bag as yours. we got your back, don't worry.)
