jamie replied on May 21, 2008 22:27 to the question "Service" in Timbuk2:
hm. first question is "what's a zipper liner?". we don't have that option in the bag builder. once you're in your shopping cart, there's usually a "keep shopping" button at the bottom of the page. If you're still having trouble, give us a call at 1-800-865-2513. Sometimes it's easier to work through tech problems with the other person on the phone...

jamie replied on May 16, 2008 23:13 to the idea "large tote for my dog with more colors please!" in Timbuk2:
the truth (aka, my superior knowledge guess) is that the large doesn't sell as well as the medium (which is true for most bags) and so we have to limit the color selection or we'd have a bunch of large bags at the end of the season that people were all "nah" to. that having been said, heck yeah we want to see a picture of your dog in a cargo tote! post it on flickr and email us the link, or just send it to customerservice@timbuk2.com

jamie replied on May 16, 2008 22:59 to the question "lex pack medium- bottom of bag width?" in Timbuk2:
very confusing, indeed, what happens is this: the sides of the bag slightly curve in at the bottom, creating a slightly less volumnous bottom than top.what this means for you: i totally don't understand what size computer you have. yes, you say it is a 15.4" macbook pro, but my numbers for that computer say it's 14.1x 9.6, which would make it fit (albeit a little weird at the bottom o' the bag); however, your numbers are different, which makes me wonder if perhaps you have a bigger computer?

(i told the swede to write this, but he didn't, so i will:) get all tattoo-artist on your bag and do a cover-up! turn wynona into wino! a "unique" butterfly into a dragon-killing-gnome! billy bob into, well, she didn't cover it up, but you can't get laser removal of a permanent marker, so, well, you get my point.
jamie replied on May 16, 2008 21:29 to the question "What is your plan for green house gas emissions?" in Timbuk2:
i'd reccomend writing a fancier email to customerservice@timbuk2.com that they can forward to the people you'd most want responding to a question like this. yes, everyone and their mom should have access to our green-ness, but graduate students usually like more details and quotes and to tell you the truth i don't know if that information is just hangin' out around here (but i agree that it should be, and probably will be, eventually).

jamie replied on May 16, 2008 21:06 to the question "please send new computer - not sleeve - a real, live computer" in Timbuk2:
well, coxie, the swede is a superemployee here at timbuk2 who has lots of answers about lots of stuff but doesn't necessarily know the details about specific orders. thus, to assist amanda in getting a speedy answer about her specific order, he referred her to customer service, which is a good idea for all order-specific "i need to change the logo color right now and i don't actually live in CA i live in CO can you change my address, too?!" kinda deals. but if you need to know product related info, or history info, or random bike info, the crew here on GS who aren't in custie service will still be able to help you out!

jamie replied on May 08, 2008 16:20 to the question "Does Timbuk2 make a dog backpack? If not, can you?" in Timbuk2:
my guess is that your guess is correct (that they, like all other retailers, made overseas or not, set their product and color selection long before customers ever see it, and therefore cannot change the color options at customer request). i'll also be super honest and say that i highly doubt timbuk2 will venture into the animal goods and fasion industry. we like to do things well around here, and as much as we love our own dogs, we don't know enough to make cool stuff for them. happy hunting!
