dude. my coffee has barely kicked in, but can i just point out that it's a tad impossible to make a sleeve that doesn't add to the dimensions of laptop. especially if you want a pocket (no matter how expandable) and something to attach a strap to. personally, i think the steve sleeve (name and all) is witty and well designed. and? tampon string? really? where's my coffee.....

jamie replied on March 13, 2008 17:43 to the question "I want my strap pad!" in Timbuk2:
Have you called the store you bought it from? If they don't have one for you, email us at customerservice@timbuk2.com. As far as the plactic triangle thing, it's just to hang your bag at the store. It serves no function other than that.
jamie replied on March 12, 2008 21:57 to the problem "What should I do with the extra length on the main strap of my classic messenger?" in Timbuk2:
how cute would it be to have a timbuk2 instruction manual?...anyway, if the strap is double-backed the way it was when you got it, it does look less conspicuous. you can chop a bit of the excess, but you should find a way to make it not fray. AND don't cut too much! keep it safe with a little extra length.

...if we WERE to give a discount (which, you know, is likely, since we like people doing rad stuff for rad causes and such) we would be MOST likely to do it if you emailed us. customerservice@timbuk2.com

jamie replied on March 11, 2008 23:37 to the question "Why is the strap pad a $10 add on for the Build Your Own Messenger?" in Timbuk2:
this is a good question. my guess? the customization process (which takes more time, effort, people paying attention to your darling details as they sew up your "very you" bag) costs more to make than an already made bag. so by choosing to get all fancy, you're upping the cost, thus pushing the strap pad outta the tub. but that's just my guess.

jamie replied on March 11, 2008 22:18 to the problem "New velcro strips please?" in Timbuk2:
this might sound a little odd but: have you tried trimming the fuzz? velcro attaches better to the tightly curled loops, and not the pulled-for-four-years strings. or, you can email us at customerservice@timbuk2.com, and we'll see what we can do for you.
jamie replied on March 11, 2008 22:14 to the question "Are there dedicated locations for cables/charger in the Track and Commute backpacks?" in Timbuk2:
well, there are no pockets that are in committed, monogamous, dedicated relationships with power adapters and cables. but the track has an organizational "section" that has a bit of room for such items, and the commute (my p.f. --personal favorite-- ) has a little room w/in the laptop compartment for cables outside of the laptop, as well as two smaller organizational pockets on the front of the bag. s

jamie replied on March 11, 2008 21:25 to the question "Bag for EeePC and accessories?" in Timbuk2:
Hello tiny computer Phate. I tried to find the dimensions of an eee, but had no luck. It looks so small and cute! I'm thinkin' maybe the Coder would be best, because, like your eee, it's slim and simple. there's a smidgen of extra room for teeny accessories, but not enough room for anything big (like food).
