How exactly are you measuring? We sell springs that are approximately 2.5" from end-to-end that may work for you.

Yes, those brackets will allow you to attach a headboard and footboard. -

This is the only 33" trundle set we carry. It does not come with a headboard though.

The smallest daybed with a trundle we carry is approximately 42" deep.
