Is Yelp removing comments on this site now?I keep getting these emails from this site. Is Yelp removing comments on this site now? Here is the copy and paste:
"This reply has been removed by Yelp:
You just proved my point about ignorance. Thank you. Replies can be removed by community moderators if they contain inappropriate content or private information. This was the reason given in this case:
Yelp: "We're not going to tolerate your abusive attitude toward other customers. "
If you disagree with this change, you can dispute it here."
The other poster's rude comment was not removed. Guess Yelp only cares about their loyal Yelpers. Wow! I am so surprised...

Yelp is extorting businessesI've noticed that since Yelp has been calling me weekly for money (I always refuse) my positive reviews have been dropping like flies (10 total reviews now have been removed) and the one negative one always stays up. Yet the "sponsored businesses" (paying monthly fees to Yelp for better placement, etc) always have a large number of positive reviews that have accumulated. I feel that I am being extorted and need to file a complaint as I have been documenting their phone calls and taking screen shots and noting dates of the positive reviews being removed. Some may wonder why I should be concerned? They are the first listing that comes up when you do a Google search for my business, even before my own website url.

I see more businesses are getting online and protesting with their keyboard. I am on board with the class action law suit but it won't prevail. We receive weekly phone calls from Yelp asking us to pay them money monthly. Since the phone calls, positive reviews go missing within one day. Before the phone calls, the reviews would stay for several weeks. I suspect they will keep up with the extortion until someone stops them. (Got a little dramatic with my earlier posts out of frustration.)

Yelp is not interested in helping business owners. They only allowed businesses to respond because of all the negative press. Yelpers can still remove the business owner's comments if it doesn't suit them. I've had eight 5-star reviews removed but one elite yelper who wasn't even a client writes a negative rev iew out of spite and it stays up permanently as I watch all of my other, verifiable positive reviews go missing. They have even removed several of my comments on this site. Bullies.

They won't allow a news feed because they want to control info on their site and do preemptive damage control. Many, many business owners are just waiting for a chance to bring down Yelp. They are not going to allow us what they force business owners to have: an anonymous blank bitching board with rumors of paid reviews and no recourse for the libel and slander.

Thought I would go into a little more detail: I have had eight 5 star reviews removed but one disgruntled associate loses her job and spends the next two months becoming an elite yelper just so she can post a FAKE negative review about my business. And, it will never be removed. Now they call weekly to get me to advertise on their site. They want me to pay them money to facilitate a blank bitching board for any peon to write any biased review about my business without any verification or recourse? I am astonished that there is no legal recourse. I am so looking forward to Yelp going down. They are greedy bastards and deserve to be sued into oblivion.

I understand about the copy and paste. Won't happen again. Just trying to get the word out about the racket that is Yelp. They are just awful and a breeding ground for no-lifers to self placate. If they find out who I am there will be fake negative reviews on my business as pay back. That is how they work.

Yelp keeps removing my answers on this site. I got screwed over by that racket and they keep calling for money. They will go down or sell it like Paypal just before it goes under because they run it into the ground. Stoppleman is collecting now but the gravy train will eventually end. Let's lobby congress to allow owner's of sites like Yelp to be sued! Right now they are protected. Let's level the playing field.
