Since you are writing about such a yummy(and visually appealing) topic, I would love to see some photos included of cupcakes - either within the banner or on the site pages.

This is a topic with lots of research and opinions out there. While the search engines are protective of their algorithms that generate search results, I have been told by industry experts that the most influential factor is inbound links (which would be an off page SEO tactic). Creating compelling, unique content and continuing to update it is an on page tactic, but they work together. If you have that content that is relevant to your audience, then other sites are likelier to link to you. Additionally, you can promote your site via others blogs and social media to generate links back.

Emmy just wrote a fantastic 4 part tutorial series about SEO, I've included the link for part 4 (Promoting your site) here, but I recommend them all.

Thanks for the question. We follow the practice of many other online businesses and separate the welcome mail from task-oriented mails to make it easier for users to identify mails that require a task from them (e.g. account verification, credit card update)
If we put the verification as a sentence within the welcome mail, the task could be missed by some readers.

Yes you have a good site, with robust content on the site.

I like the idea of putting your logo up into the top banner. If your style supports a banner there will be two buttons in the area, one that says Change Banner, one that says Edit Banner

I also like having the home page give an overall description of what team comics is about, and then your blog could be on it's own page within the site.

I like the Déjà vu name you’ve chosen, as it conveys what your product is very well! Even if you are not trying to build a huge business, having a site built with SEO in mind will help your local customers find you. You should also include your town in your home page content and your tags. That way, people who search for “childrens clothes Chicago” will be likelier to find you.

I love the banner image. I think the copy at the start of your site should explain what the site is about, what type of content I should expect to find there. The anti-phishing message you have is good reassurance but should be in smaller print, after the user knows what to expect on the site.
