I'm not sure the trusted or "power" users group is such a hot idea. I think there are a lot of trustworthy users, but if anything is settled in a way that appears to be questionable everybody would be up in arms. Maybe a group of users could be defined as Junior Admins (or whatever name) and they as a group collectively settle a question, sort of a check-and-balance system where if there is a disagreement an admin ultimately has to settle. Also, the junior settlement group would do it not knowing who the other junior admins are so as not to affect the outcome, and maybe it's a random 25% of the group settling. I know it seems complicated but would provide the hubdubbers a feeling of trust while still settling questions as fast as possible.

I enjoy the difference. I tend not to go with the multi-tiered questions concerning where the DJIA opens because I just don't have the time to look into it in the morning. How the DJIA opens, up or down, I can handle that based on morning news reports on the radio. I think categorizing the questions as duplicate would be ridiculous.
jarrod replied on April 09, 2008 17:34 to the idea "NEW and IMPROVED" in Hubdub:
Information for how many questions you actually predicted correctly. Maybe even a leaderboard that shows this information. For example...
Question 1 has two possible outcomes, yes and no. If you choose "no" and it is settled as "no" than you your prediction score improves by "1"
Question2 has three possible outcomes, yes, no, and blue. If you choose to wager on all three outcomes, than no matter what you're prediction score would improve by .33.
If you cash out, than no increase would occur.
This would be in addition to the $H leaderboard and the % increase leaderboard. This would obviously grow more slowly but would encourage placing wagers on as many questions as possible and would also reward those who are making single outcome predictions more heavily than those with multiple predictions.

I agree, option 2 is the best considering the circumstances. You're right about questions regarding tv shows, my wife has almost completely given up her Hubdub addiction because she only made wagers on TV shows she/we watched and now there are only two shows left for us to put $H on.
The plus side, however, is that betting before the show is a bit like betting on a horse race. It may make the show-watching experience a little more.

Closing Hubdub accounts. If you want to close a Hubdub account, how would you go about doing it? It's unclear. To be clear, don't close my account, I'd just like to know.

jarrod reported a problem in Hubdub on March 17, 2008 16:46:
Kwame Kilpatrick question gone askew.I've noticed that the question here, http://www.hubdub.com/e/Market/Will_W..., hasn't been settled. I requested a settlement, but there also appears to be a problem with related components such as comments, history, etc. so I'm thinking there is another issue with this question.
Thanks for you help! Great site!
