IMO, using the volume button would be really awkward. You'd have to use one hand just for that button, which only leaves one hand to control both movement and the camera.
You'll get used to the current controls soon, they're pretty much the best you can get for the iDevice considering it has no buttons.

You can pay for more power cells, in case you hadn't realized.
The servers for eliminate aren't free. in order to get profit from a game they're selling for free, ngmoco have to have DLC that people will want to get (hence, paying to play more than 6 energized games a day). It's actually a good system, from a business standpoint. From a player standpoint, it's not the best system. It is, however, necessary in order to keep the servers up and running.

Great find! As in, it's good that you found this out, not that it's good that it can happen.
SERIOUSLY, THIS SHOULD BE FIXED ASAP.
Wait, for this o get fixed, wouldn't it require an update to Eliminate? I really hope not, that would mean a longer wait time for it to be released in not-Canada app stores...-

'k, that explains it. Waiting 4 hours to play 1 game with energy probably isn't the best way to do it, unless it's really necessary. I understand that you're trying to get people to pay for energy packs, but maybe it should be 3 games per 6 hour wait? That way you can get an energized game every 2 hours.
I'll be paying for energy when it comes out in Aus anyway, so I don't really have much of a problem with it.
Jas765 reported a problem in ngmoco on October 31, 2009 09:58:
Eliminate energy recharge timeIt was previously said that energy would recharge every 90 minutes, but it's not. My energy recharged for the first time just then, about 5 hours after I first opened the app. EDIT: and that 5 hour wait only gave me one game with energy. Honestly, that's pretty ridiculous.
Is this intentional?
