Jason Tucker shared an idea in boxee on January 13, 2009 17:00:
Powerusers left out in the cold with Boxee too many cool features from xbmc ditched.I've been a long time user of XBMC on my hacked xbox. I love that setup dearly but it has its limitations hardware wise. After reading the suggestions and comments on getsatisfaction here it looks like we're in 2 camps: Those that expect more and those that want it simpler. I'd like to see boxee implement some of the core poweruser features that made XBMC the beloved product it is today. I also like the new social features that boxee has brought to the table. Boxee team, can you add in a poweruser feature that just removes the restrictions that you've put in place allowing for contextual menus and being able to rescan the sources at will along with renaming and rescanning movies and tv shows so we get the right metadata associated with the content we're trying to access?

Jason Tucker replied on January 13, 2009 16:24 to the idea "main screen customization" in boxee:
I'm not even sure if customize is the correct term to use here. If you gave us a say, 5 different "home screens" to choose from we can select of of those from the options and be done with it.
I'm voting for a list of new files along the bottom and on the top a list of sources. HULU, MTV, JOOST, Video Podcasts and local / network sources. XBMC allows for this sort of thing to happen since each screen is numbered we're just picking which screen number to display on startup.
Jason Tucker replied on January 13, 2009 16:20 to the idea "Boxee should mark unwatched items" in boxee:
I think this is a very important piece that is needed for boxee to be wife friendly. My goal is to use boxee to replace my DVR and if it cant keep track of whats watched then its going to be a pain to keep up with media files I'm watching.
XBMC has this functionality, looks like they need to go back to the source and reevaluate some of the features that XBMC has and "steal" from them.-

A comment on the question "Release date of Twinkle and Friend Book??" in Tapulous:
I'd love to use Friend Book 1.1 at the New Media Expo going on the 13th - 17th of August. Would be a good test to see how well it hold up in an environment where damn near everyone has an iphone and want to exchange biz cards. – Jason Tucker, on July 30, 2008 18:58
