Jamie, seriously I'm very agitated at Twitter's lack of interest in solving customer complaint issues.
It's cruel to offer people who when there is none. They have to make their complaints to Twitter and move on. Twitter may get around to solving the problem, but likely won't. And, if your complaint centers around a "We're about to begin our Twitter marketing campaign," you're the problem not the user they want. They don't want your marketing campaign. They don't want you. They want a flashy cool celeb and their tween fan base (regardless of the physical age of the user :).
So, sorry guys. Twitter doesn't care, and they definitely don't want to hear it. When I've asked Twitter why they ignored my retort to their untrue "solved" status on tickets they just delete or close the tickets - that's their attitude.

Twitter doesn't want your business. Please go somewhere else.
You aren't Oprah, Kutcher or some other important personality that Twitter was built to serve and attract.
Either start a new account and follow the people Twitter suggests you follow or go away. Either way, Twitter doesn't care about your complaints.

http://friendorfollow.com/ is nice too.

It's because Twitter doesn't love you anymore.
Seriously: http://www.jasonn.com/testing_twitter...
If you're following 2K+ people they block you unless you have enough people following you. It's 110% of the people following you - that's how many you can follow.

Alternates to Twitter:
http://indenti.ca does basically the same thing.
http://status.net/ will launch soon and it does the same thing.
If microblogging has your attention, you'll enjoy reading about open micriblogging which would resolve most of these problems" http://openmicroblogging.org/
I'm using http://friendfeed.com a lot, and it's basically a great place to funnel all your social media so one person can follow everything in one place. I love it. Follow me at http://friendfeed.com/jasonn and join the newb group for help figuring it out:

friendfeed is MUCH nicer than Twitter, both as a service and its smooth functional nature and the company's more reliable and thoughtful TOS. But, alas Twitter isn't popular because it's a good service or functional. It's popular because the press is all over it.
"Follow me, follow me!" is all I heard this weekend watching a little bit of CNN. It's silly. But, it's why Twitter's blowing up.

You guys need to stop the complaining and start actively converting users to companies that have reasonable suspension policies. Twitter doesn't like you. They don't care. They don't want you using their services. They suspending you because they want you to go away. So, go away and bring some people with you.
According to Neilson, the success (stickiness) rate of Twitter accounts is abysmal.

I'm putting my efforts into building my friendfeed subscriptions independent of Twitter, and am seriously considering canceling my Twitter account. My Twitter account is not canceled or suspended today. But, that's today. Who knows what Twitter's management may decide to do in the morning, over their morning latte' or after some bizarre upgrade nobody wants.

I've only submitted one ticket. It sat dormant for a week and then they marked it solved w/out responding or answering my question. – Jason A. Nunnelley, on May 19, 2009 20:19
jasonn asked a question in Twitter on February 19, 2009 23:18:
I'd love to send a friendly note asking for a username someone's squatting.I've been using a handle for 9 years. Someone reserved that handle and has sat on it for 10 months - no activity. I'd love to send a little note "Hey, if you're not going to use it can I?" But, there's no method available to me.
