SMS and Twitter direct messages ideaSo this struck me this morning as I sit in a hotel room and am trying to get some information to a colleague already in a meeting.
Usually, I would just call or SMS him but I brilliantly forgot to bring my charger. So faced with a dead phone, it would be great to be able to direct message him via twitter for him to get the message.
So what I would propose would be to add the following capability.
d FONENUM message
where FONENUM is not advertised or directly addressable except through DM.
Twitter already knows this information and I figure it would not to be too hard to expose. And since it's not exposed unless the number is known, there should not be an issue with people scooping numbers.
I know there are services like teleflip out there but I like Twitter and being able to do messages through twitter. =)

This would be interesting. I just got back from spending 18 days in Japan and lugging a 5D + a ton of accessories around.
I am definitely looking for a replacement bag to do the following.
Let me easily carry all or some of the stuff I need around. The idea would be to have a bag that I could use to carry everything to a place and then selectively leave components behind while I go out for day trips.
These are the required bits.
1) Camera 5D + battery grip. Easy access would be great
2) Blower
3) Cards
4) Microfiber cloth
5) Weather proofing would be great
Optional
6) Good way to sling a tripod.
7) Ability to carry and quickly switch lenses.
8) Couple of handy pouches to fix GPS data logger for instance.
9) iPod pocket would be great
10) ability to add laptop.
11) ability to convert portion of bag to sling type for day trips.
Weight is a big consideration as it adds up very quickly. I strongly urge not charging a premium for reduced weight as I believe that you can make it up on volume. There is demand out there.
As a data point, I currently use a Domke FX3B and Lowepro AW Rover II.-

Actually, this would be a high priority item for me. I'm travelling in Japan for the next 3 weeks with intermittent internet access, it would be useful to be able to catch up on what others are doing. Additionally, I am subscribed to people that post frequently enough that other tweets fall off the end without being able to retrieve/recover.
So pretty please with extra sugar.

Provide facility to nudge employees.Currently, I have an outstanding question to the twitter folks to request some modifications to Twitter. The twitter group shows that there are at least 3 employees monitoring the site.
I am sure the Twitter guys are busy rolling stuff out but I guess as part of the Satisfaction experience, I would like to be able to "nudge" an employee for some sort of acknowledgement.
I would not necessarily advocate setting this up to be automatic unless the employee chooses to be reminded accordingly. I would also restrict the capability to the thread starter so that there is not a chorus of "me toos" at least for now.

Making easier to file Satisfaction reports. Please consider creating a widget that sites can incorporate for filing reports/feedback.
Or better yet, create a firefox plugin that detects if a site has Satisfaction support and open a pop up to file a report without leaving the site.
For example, I'm very impressed with how iilwy.com does beta feedback report requests. There is a big red tab on every single page that solicts feedback.

Dopplr Alerts requested. It would be great if there was the option to set up tracking for a certain set of users to alert if they are going to be in the same city via email or SMS as the date approaches without having to go to the website to pull this information.
jauderho shared an idea in Adobe on September 03, 2007 23:25:
Adobe Lightroom feature request.I recently had to migrate to Lightroom from RawShooter due to RawShooter no longer being supported and more in particular, RawShooter not being able to read and process XMP in order to extract GPS info.
However, the LightRoom interface is MUCH harder to use than the RawShooter interface due to a lot of the shortcut keys. What was intuitive in RawShooter is now very clumsy in Lightroom. I suggest that Adobe takes a good hard look at what made RawShooter popular in the first place.
For example, Lightroom does not allow output of images to a relative location which should be some simple to do.
My workflow directory structure is as follows
2007/5D/20070801/RAW, POST. etc.
All the RAW files are kept in the RAW directory and output files kept in POST. This keeps things nice and neat.
So please consider adding this in the next release. Thanks much!-

Leslie,
Not quite the same thing. It is much less valuable when you have to manually create the account and set up the backend handling. This is something that I think Twitter should put into their infrastructure.
factoryjoe pointed out Jiaku channels which is more along the lines of what I was proposing.
More on this later once I get a chance to write something up. I have no blog (gasp!) so I'll be posting here.

I do like the new Comments section. One additional feature that I would ask for is to a way to quickly see my pictures currently posted for next issue themes and to be able to see how they are doing, votes, comments etc. summarized.
Right now I would have to go to each theme individually to check which strikes me as somewhat silly.
