Scott replied on July 24, 2008 14:04 to the problem "CSE 3.0 Won't update and isn't hearing from clients" in Sunbelt Software:

    Scott
I'm curious to know how long the threats were allowed to load. The threat database is large and when the GUI list of threats need to be loaded it can appear that the console has stopped responding.

Also we've changed the way CSE does update definitions, when the CSE server calls into our updates server it first connects to one server to check to see what definitions you need and then a second connection to the server that hands out the definitions. If you have a firewall that is configured to get updates from a specific address this cause issue getting updates. Our new server that was added recently is: http://PSC.sunbeltsoftware.com

I would like to have a technician work with you on this issue, please contact our support department and open a ticket.

CSE 3.0 Won't update and isn't hearing from clients
My CounterSpy Enterprise 3.0 won't update. I recently updated from V1.8 When I open the window for Threats I get a message that the definitions are currently loading. When I go to update the program quits responding and eventually has to be closed from Task Manager. I tried one of the recent replies on doing a manual update to the definitions, but no luck
