Jay Allen replied on June 07, 2009 23:40 to the question "How about an "Open this link in LittleSnapper" bookmarklet or Firefox extension?" in Realmac Software:
I just noticed that a URL handler (i.e. protocol) exists in my Firefox settings for LittleSnapper. (As in ostensibly: littlesnapper://URL). Yet, I've not been able to figure out what it's for. My one attempt to use it launched LittleSnapper's browser but put the app in the background with Firefox in the foreground yet LittleSnapper would not give up the menu bar.
Will delve into this further.
Jay Allen reported a problem in Seesmic on April 09, 2009 03:39:
Up/Down arrows stop working when scrolling tweetsI'm using the Seesmic Desktop Preview and have noticed a consistent problem related to use of the up/down arrows when scrolling through a list of tweets. The problem is that after about 5 up or down arrows, they stop working and will not work again until I click on the listof Tweets again.
It almost seems like there is some periodic process that it stealing focus from the scrollable tweet list forcing me to refocus on it to regain control.
If I could add something else in here: I would love to be able to use the spacebar for pagin down.
Jay Allen shared an idea in Seesmic on April 09, 2009 03:34:
Seesmic Desktop needs a font-size setting for us old peopleI'm using the Seesmic Desktop Preview which I think is a fantastic and ambitious product. However, the default font size of something like -9 and no font size setting in the configuration is making this four-pane setup look a bit like cuneiform.
There's no way at my screen resolution (which works great for everything else) that I can bear to look at these little tiny words for long.
Otherwise, outstanding job on the app. Looking forward to the next release!

Jay Allen asked a question in Get Satisfaction on April 08, 2009 02:02:
The company name is clear but which product am I looking at?I like a lot of what you all did on the redesign, so congrats on some very positive moves. However, one thing that unfortunately went the other way is the product context of the current conversation for companies who have more than one product.
For example, look at the following topic in the Plasq section for Plasq's Skitch.com website: "copy Direct URL" no longer working in Safari 3.2.. There's no Product context above the fold (see annotated screenshot, although for a completely different topic :-/ Sorry...). One has to scroll down a page to find it on the right sidebar.
Additionally, I seem to remember that the product could be found in the URL, but that seems to have changed as well so that they are all under a flat hierarchy:
* http://getsatisfaction.com/plasq/topi...
* http://getsatisfaction.com/plasq/topi...
I would love to see BOTH the company and product logos/names up top as these two things are crucial to deriving the context.
Keep up the good work and thanks for listening, as always!-

Jay Allen replied on April 07, 2009 01:15 to the question "Genealogy Typepad Sites? Family Group Sheet Forms?" in Six Apart:
Hi Jim. I'm a long time Movable Type user/developer and former Six Apart product manager for Movable Type. I also happen to be big into genealogy. I too had difficulty finding any good genealogy blogs and no great examples of creating family trees using blog software. I'm sure that it could be done, but I've simply not done it myself nor seen it done.
Good luck finding some leads and please let us know if you do. I'd be very interested.-
