Jay Allen replied on December 13, 2008 05:44 to the question "Why is my iPhone freezing?" in Apple:
While James' warning is spot on, freezes can happen for a number of less drastic reasons that don't require a restore. When it freezes, try the following:
- Force quit the current app by holding down the home button (round button in front) for 5-10 seconds. If the current application was the culprit, the problem will be resolved
- Sync the iPhone if you're near you're computer. I don't know why this works, but it often does.
- Power cycle the phone by holding down both the home button and the sleep button (rectangular button on top) for about 10 seconds. Once you start it back up (by holding down the sleep button for a few secs), the problem will almost certainly be fixed -- unless you've got more serious issues that require a restore. :-)

Perhaps one of these might help? I just bought vCardMailer, Email Contact and Send Contact to check them out. I'll come back and let you know how it went.-

Jay Allen replied on December 13, 2008 05:23 to the question "Is there any way to lock the iphone keypad while on a call?" in Apple:
As far as cases, I swear by the Agent 18 which provides great protection against drops but doesn't cover the screen at all. The screen really doesn't need protection unless you're really really abusive/clumsy with it.
Jay Allen replied on December 13, 2008 05:19 to the idea "iPhone should rotate keyboard for email...." in Apple:
Definitely. In the meantime, check out the TouchType iPhone app which works for more than just email.
Jay Allen replied on December 13, 2008 05:14 to the question "Top 10 Iphone issues / Problems / gripes / concerns" in Apple:
Heh. Good luck with that. Tell us how it is. Me personally? The iPhone is, even with it's issues and "missing features" (i.e. things *I* want it to do), it's still the best phone I've ever had and the best one I see anywhere in the market.
I'll be keeping my iPhone for the foreseeable future even if that includes having cold, dead hands.

The United States is an embarrassment when it comes to the environment. As one of the largest and most powerful nation in the world, we need to lead in the protection of our environment and rein in the corporations which all but control our government in the form of special interest lobbyists and financial contributions.-
