Really sorry for taking so long to respond - I had to recheck my email notifications. This is a great suggestion on usability for favorite providers and we'll try to incorporate into our roadmap.
Some good news -- we have added a very senior UI Director joining our team starting on June 1st. So you can look forward to improvements coming soon.

I can assure you that oDesk is not out of business and still alive and well. I am quite sorry for your negative experience so far, but we've just discovered this site and will be actively replying to any questions here from now on.
