check if file is well uploadedIs there a way to check if a file has been well uploaded on Wuala? I had a problem with a 2.7GB file, I downloaded it on another machine and found a different md5 checksum... :(

HTTP resumeIf I use the web interface to download files I can't resume downloads; is there a reason for that? Are your servers configured to not allow resuming?

Don't you use 'save as' to download these large files? What type of files are they? – jcmag, on May 15, 2009 14:28

You know I thought like you ("people are really stupid") but actually I understand better the problem now. The problem is that people are used to p2p software, and in general they "download" files in these softwares then they look for them on their disk (like in emule, files are downloaded in the incoming folder). Here, when they don't read any wuala help, they try to use it like their other p2p software... and get lost.
Is the "download" menu really necessary? Personally, I use only "open" when it is photos, documents etc. and "save as" when I want to retrieve other files...

Actually I wonder if it isn't the "download" menu that is the real problem; it has an arrow and a shortcut so it is more visible in the context menu. I think people see it before the "save as" menu.
And the problem is that you click on "download" and then... what? "So the file is downloaded, I should find it somewhere on my disk..." and they start looking in the wuala folder :(

"download" & "save as" misunderstandingSome people who are new to Wuala use the "download" menu to download files and then they go to the Wuala folder to find their files; then they only find strange files, and try to rename them etc.
I don't know how it could be improved but several users reported to me this issue, so I think it's important to take it into account.

Open several photos at onceWhen I want to see my friends' photos I select several photos at once and click on "open", but I got this error:
....Another file is currently being streamed. Please wait until the other file is not being accessed any more and try again.
Another problem is if I have downloaded all photos, then I select only three of them to view only these ones I see all other photos I downloaded (I'm on ubuntu 8.04, photos are displayed with eye of gnome)
Is there a feature on your todo list to improve viewing photos, like a new "view slideshow" menu that would automatically download all photos in a folder and launch an app to see them (the default OS photo viewer could be sufficient in a first time)

yes it was that ;) (I don't need a nfs server on this machine, I don't remember when this nfs server was installed...)
But it still does'nt work, and the trace tells me:

Or it will start inevitably again from 0?

I tried a manual mount because it doesn't work automatically.
Here is my /etc/fstab file:
localhost:/wuala /media/disk/wuala/direct nfs defaults,users,noauto,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,timeo=14,intr,nolock,soft
after "sudo mount -a", Wuala still says:
Portmap active OK
Service started OK
Volume mounted KO
File system integration working KO
and the log:
Debug log initialized
Starting server Mount ...
Starting server NFS ...
