jd replied on February 03, 2009 22:49 to the question "Endnote exporting and importing?" in Delicious Monster:
It shouldn't be too hard to make an xslt file to export EndNote xml or something like RIS that EndNote imports. In the short term, you can export from DL as BibTex and then use this free web-based tool to convert to EndNote XML: http://dret.net/bibconvert/ . Or, if you use Zotero (www.zotero.com) it will import BibTex and export a couple of formats that EndNote can use. I use EndNote all the time, but find Zotero quite handy for quicker grabbing of citations off the web...

I have a similar problem with Firefox. However, I discovered that if I drag the url from the amazon search to DL2 it works great. So, I do a search, click the link the verify it is what I want to add, then hit back and drag the link in. Not as cool as when I could drag the url, but better than adding by hand.-

jd reported a problem in Delicious Monster on August 11, 2008 21:04:
Series information not grabbed from Amazon?Hi. I noticed that all of the books that I have that are in a series have empty "series" fields in the details view. I also ran the included series report applescript to see if there were any in my library and none are showing up. I thought it might be that Amazon just doesn't have that info on these, but I just noticed that books from at least 2 series are listed as being part of a series on Amazon, so presumably that field should be populated? In both cases, the series seems to be listed in the subtitle?
Two amazon link examples are:
http://www.amazon.com/Gardens-Moon-Ma...=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1218488309&sr=1-1
(under product details it says "This is item 1 in The Malazan Book of the Fallen Series.")
and...
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASI...=nosim/deliciousmons-20
which under details on the amazon page says "This is item 1 in The Wheel of Time Series."
Is there something I need to do to get the series info automatically inserted?
Thanks!

Just to be safe: the javascript I am using in my xsl file to run the "search" link was borrowed from http://www.lifeclever.com/17-powerful... ... I just modified one bit to get it to search within the table, but whoever put it on that site deserves the credit for writing the actual script if you use it... – jd, on August 07, 2008 02:00

Yeah - that's true. Unfortunately, a lot of my older series the version I have isn't for sale on Amazon anymore regardless, or takes a great deal of digging, so... it's a question of when / if to deal with the wrong versions. For new purchases, I imagine this type of issue won't come up so long as I stay current with my library... – jd, on August 04, 2008 00:58

A comment on the idea "DL2 on iPhone" in Delicious Monster:
Just a minor comment, and this may not be the best location for it, but when thinking about people with really large libraries either on the iphone or the web (which I really appreciate since mine is pretty big!) I think one thing that might help in a future version would be some form of incremental updates to the export. It takes quite a while to upload my library to my ftp site, and so if all I have added is one book, it seems like a real pain to have to upload all of the images again. I tried taking a look at the folder to see if i could selectively pick the new ones, but it seems as if you are deleting the files and then recreating everything. This might also help the iphone issue (that one) in that I personally wouldn't mind if the first sync was relatively slow since I know I have a big library, but then ideally new sync's would be just what I've added... – jd, on July 28, 2008 05:18

Sorry - just to clarify - I was referring to multiple select when adding items from within the "recommendations" tab that appears when you select something you have already added. I might just have an odd "work flow" but with adding several books in a series, I found it was fastest to add the first, then try and grab the ones from that recommendation tab in the info panel. I can drag one item into the library that way, but not multiple, which would be handy. Not a burning need, but... Thanks for taking the time to reply! – jd, on July 28, 2008 05:11
