Adam replied on August 29, 2008 15:03 to the problem "Windows Live Messenger bot not responding" in Ping.fm:
If you are still unable to add the bot, we will both have to perform the process I mentioned above (remove completely on both ends, then you can re-add). I think if you are already on the allow list, but can't see the bot online for some unexplainable reason, then you request again, it will not prompt the bot to accept you. The entire request/accept process in WLM is a testers nightmare. I can partially reproduce this and tons of other oddities using the actual wlm client, but it is never reliable or consistent. WLM is the most unreliable of all the bots (due to the nature of the WLM protocol), GTalk or AIM are the most reliable.

No joy. Followed these intsructions to the letter. Bot appears ... but it's OFFLINE. Exactly the same behavior as before. – jeffnew, on August 29, 2008 13:03

I believe I have defeated this problem (hopefully)....
Using the official WLM client:
If you have previously added the bot but it does not show up:
select the bot on your buddylist, right click, delete contact, also remove from hotmail contacts (do not block), delete. Then go to options, privacy, select the bot on your "allow" list, hit the delete button on the keyboard and hope it deletes it, then click ok.
To add the bot:
click on the "Add a contact" icon, enter pingdotfm@live.com, then click add contact. Wait about 1-2 minutes, then change the view from the buddylist to one of the other tabs (check out windows live, "what is i'm", other spam ads, etc), then back to your buddylist, and the bot should appear.
Using a better client:
Add the bot as usual and it should work right away.

Great workaround bface! I have a Helio Ocean which has all the major IM's and this works great for me. Thanks! =) – TxTurbo, on August 28, 2008 17:50

while it isn't the most efficient solution, it works for me since i'm signed onto AIMTXT from my phone 24/7..

what i do is, when i'm signed onto AIMTXT from my phone, i shoot ping.fm an instant message through text, and it updates all of my accounts.

Sounds like your cel provider e-mail is lagging. It's actually been happening to a couple other users today. The messages arrive here and are immediately posted, There is no post delay. Who is your provider? – Sean, on August 26, 2008 01:35

All of my posts from today just started popping up an hour ago, almost the exact same time as they did *last* night with posts via my cell. – saidshe, on August 26, 2008 01:30

1. Status updates and micro-blogs look the same in Facebook. Both show up as status updates. I am not sure if the new grammar assist feature acts differently for the two or not.
2. You can't post a blog entry through the ping.fm facebook interface (or at least I can't). What I do is post to Blogspot. In Facebook I subscribe to the Blogspot RSS feed. These show up as Facebook Notes, which will show up in your news feed.
