Jelle started following the question "Will Premium customers in the Netherlands be cut off, or will they continue to be supported?" in Spotify.
Jelle replied on September 22, 2009 07:45 to the problem "Password reset fail" in robo.to:
This is my last try to explain it :) If you still don't get it please check out the reset flow from Yahoo/Google/E/Wakoopa or any other site..
Q: What is more secure, resetting the password by the actual user or by someone that knows the users public username and public email address?
A: Resetting by the actual user.

The sending is not the problem, email is personal and in that way secure. However the email address is for a lot of people public or accessible if you give it a good try.
You can really confirm is it's the person when you let him activate the reset and setup a new password on the site right away. That will take as many actions (opening email + changing the password to something else VS opening email + opening link and changing password) and it is secure :)
Love robo.to, hope to use it a lot in the future!

Password reset failIf I know the username and the e-mail from a person I can reset his password. That is a unsafe flow. Sending a reset link with a message like: "someone tried to reset your password on robo.to" would be a better flow.

A comment on the question "Roadmap" in Twones:
Thanks Kim, I appreciate the response. It's great to hear something back considering the updates don't come that often. But I'm still looking forward to them! Go Dutchies ;p
However on the plugin point, I don't really believe that browsers will become the default OS in Twones life span. A Wakoopa like tracker, with really light, with auto startup, with add to library/playlist option, would be better then sidebar / toolbar / statusbar version.
I will point my services on your topic :) – Jelle, on September 04, 2009 13:17

Extend reviews with version and usageA great addition for the reviews would be the reviewers software version and usage time (all versions or the reviewed version). A bit like in Apple's App store. What do you guys think?

That answers my question. I'm looking forward to the release :) – Jelle, on September 01, 2009 11:47

A comment on the question "Real-time updates (no more lag)" in Twones:
Hey Kim, thanks for the quick response! I hope my feedback doesn't sound to negative. It just was my first response being, used to the other trackers. The 50 sec. lag sounds good, how does it handle the songs (I know some punk songs) that are less then 50 sec.?
The heavy rotation uses the number from the last week and last month. But that is literally weeknumber 35 and august. Or the last 7 days and last 30 days? Because that could explain a bit of the 'lag' or my misunderstanding of it ;) – Jelle, on September 01, 2009 11:46

Account changes lagThe old real name keeps showing up in the real name field in settings after the change. You do get the 'Successfully updated your settings' message but you have the refresh a few times before you see in change. It would be cleaner if it changes direct. I'm not sure if it's just a cookies or Google Chrome problem but just my 2 cents.

Tweet with shorturlThe current link for the song tweet doens't leave room for much text. Why not shorten it with your own service or bit.ly?
Jelle shared an idea in Twones on September 01, 2009 08:44:
Drop the Firefox / IE tracker and license the Wakoopa web trackerThe tracker for Firefox and IE isn't a good solution to monitor internet [music] behaviour. Your old roommates from Wakoopa have a working web tracker. Why not license there tracker and put your recourses in real-time updates and data correction?

Jelle asked a question in Twones on September 01, 2009 08:29:
(Auto)Correction of artist and song titles and pagesAre you working on a way to (auto)correct the artist and song titles and pages? The current raw data from queries and scrobbling now clearly isn't sufficient.
I'm not sure if you really want to have your own data version or only links to other available data. In both cases there most be some way to correct the wrong information. Just look at the artist page for Lowlands artist 'Destine', 50% is wrong.
You can use the last.fm approach and make a big 'alternative name list' from you own algorithm and/or data. A better option for Twones at this point, I think, would be if you let the user suggest and correct the data. This could be a simple +/- voting or a data input option (with a source link of course).
Jelle asked a question in Twones on September 01, 2009 08:11:
Real-time updates (no more lag)The songs and lists don't update quick enough (sometimes feel like they don't update at all). It would be better if this was real-time or close to like Wakoopa and Last.fm.
A comment on the idea "Don't cut us out! We want Spotify in The Netherlands!" in Spotify:
@ Andres: The Dutch NOS stated on july 30th 2009 that "it will be a few months before Spotify will be available in The Netherlands". Any comments? – Jelle, on August 06, 2009 08:03
