Hi Robert -
We're sorry you feel that way, though we understand your hesitation. Just to let you and other members know, the process for canceling your membership to Freelance Marketplace is simple; at any time during your trial, you simply log onto the site, go to Your Account, and go to Cancel Subscriptions. If you click Cancel next your FM membership, you'll ensure that your account will expire at the end of the month without renewing. You can also get in touch with us and we can cancel it for you. We're certainly not trying to trick you into paying for a service you don't want.
Furthermore, if you're ever accidentally charged (let's say you forgot to cancel in time), our refund policy is simple and painless. We understand that mistakes happen, and we'd gladly set you up for a refund if you contacted us soon after being charged. It only takes a few moments to set up a refund. No hoop-jumping here.
Please let us know if you have other problems or concerns.
Cheers,
Jennifer

Hi - In general, if people have similar questions (ie they're worried that they signed up for something by accident, ie they're worried they have two accounts), the best thing to do is contact us directly so we can search for them in our database, let them know what's going on, and refund them if necessary. Cheers, Jennifer
Jennifer asked a question in Apple on March 25, 2009 15:04:
Trouble downloading appsBought my iphone a few days ago. Registered my phone last night but plugging into iTunes. Right before I registered, I changed my password because I couldn't remember my Apple ID password. Now, when I try to download an app, it says "Authorization Failed. Please Connect to iTunes." Connecting doesn't help or do anything. I'm wondering if it's because i changed my password last night.
Jennifer set one of Jennifer's replies as an official response to "Magazine subscription Q" in mediabistro.com
Jennifer replied on March 24, 2009 14:32 to the question "Magazine subscription Q" in mediabistro.com:
Hi Vicky -
Yes, it's true. If you elect not to receive a magazine, you are entitled to a $10 refund from the magazine company. To receive the refund, print and fill out the refund form (found here:http://www.mediabistro.com/avantguild/offers/mag_refund.asp) and mail it in along with your AG receipt (log in, go to Your Account, Print Receipts). This must be done within 30 days of signing up for AG.
The FAQs found here may be helpful:

Because you've already selected a magazine at the time of sign up, I will manually remove you from the list of magazine subscribers.

Hi Richard -
To manage the emails you want (or do not want) to receive, log into your account, click on Your Account at the top of the page, and then click Login & Email Lists. There you can select or de-select what you want to receive. Right now, you're signed up for receive The Press List (it should come to rbaron@whatsnet.com), so if you're not receiving it we'd suggest unclicking it and hitting Submit, then going back in and clicking it again (and hitting Submit) in order to re-sign up. This usually fixes the problem. If it doesn't, let us know. Best, Jennifer

Jennifer replied on March 09, 2009 14:41 to the question "making a profile public" in mediabistro.com:
Hi Julie - Great question. Once you're ready to make your profile public, click on Access Settings (under the header "Your Freelance Marketplace Profile"). Here you can change Hidden to Public, and you can also make your contact information public, too, if you wish. For those members trying to make their Personal Homepage public, Access Settings is also the place to do it. Let us know if you still need help. Cheers, Jennifer
Jennifer replied on March 05, 2009 21:54 to the question "save job listings" in mediabistro.com:
Hi Nancy - Are you trying to save job listings as you browse so that you can come back to them later? Or are you asking for a way to compile (and keep track of) the jobs you've applied to? Unfortunately, right now we don't have an official way to do either. When you apply to a job, you'll receive an automatic confirmation email, so you can keep those all in one place in your mailbox. When you're browsing, it may help to bookmark jobs you want to return to. If this wasn't what you were asking, please ask us again in more detail and we'll be happy to answer. -Jennifer
Jennifer replied on March 05, 2009 18:43 to the question "CHange FM profile URL" in mediabistro.com:
Hi Marybeth -
I've tried out the link and it's there (and working!). Perhaps you fixed it since we last wrote to you yesterday. I clicked on the link both from within your profile (as if I were you editing it) and in the Marketplace as if I were a potential editor looking at your profile. It took me right to the page (the hdmag article about Sixteen). Let us know if you're still having troubles or have any questions. Best, Jennifer
