Jenniferlauren replied on October 27, 2009 15:41 to the problem "ONE RIOT, A CANCER THAT SPREADS AND SURGERY ON YOUR IE 8BROWSER WILL NOT REMOVE IT!" in OneRiot:
Here are our standard uninstall procedures from IE. If you are still having troubles, please send me a screen shot so I can diagnose the issue. As of now, I don't have many details on your problem, which makes it a little harder to tell what's going on right away. I appreciate your patience.
FROM XP:
Process: Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Find “Add-on Name” in list -> Remove
FROM VISTA:
Process: Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features - > Find “Add-on Name” in list -> Uninstall
(Here are some of the names of all the add-ons we have---Some people have problems uninstalling because they don't know the exact name of the addon.)
Add-on Name: Ultimate MySpace Toolbar, OneRiot Pulse Checker, OneRiot Facebook Toolbar, Me.dium IE Add-on, OneRiot CU Boulder Toolbar, OneRiot UVM Toolbar, OneRiot CSU Toolbar, OneRiot UNH Toolbar, etc
Please let me know if your issues continue, I will do what I can to help you.
Jenniferlauren replied on October 16, 2009 00:23 to the question "OneRiot Shares?" in OneRiot:
OneRiot pools sharing data from sites like Digg and Twitter. We also use the data that our own users share with us via some of our apps. The number you are referring to is how many times that article link has been shared from these three sources. (Picture attached for example)
Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask! :)

Jenniferlauren replied on September 29, 2009 16:07 to the question "i want my google" in OneRiot:
What it seems, is that OneRiot got set as your default page every time you open up your browser. This is an easy fix.
In Firefox:
-Go to your firefox toolbar at the top of the browser
-Click "Firefox" and drag down to "preferences"
-that should open a new box, click the "main" tab
-there should be a place to type in "homepage." Replace with http://Google.com or whatever website you want to have defaulted
That's it.
Also, just in case you want directions with Internet Explorer:
1)Open internet explorer
2)look at the IE toolbar at the top of the browser and click “Tools”
3)Selecting Tools should open a drop down menu. Click “Internet Options”
4)That will open a box. In the area it says “homepage” change it from http://oneriot.com to whatever it is you would like to have as your default website when you open IE.
5)Click “OK”
Let me know if this solves your problem. Thank you for your patience.
Jenniferlauren replied on September 16, 2009 18:14 to the question "Question" in OneRiot:
While we would absolutely not direct anyone to pornography, we do occasionally link to search result pages on Facebook. It is possible that you clicked a Facebook ad of ours that directed you to a Miss Universe Search result page, but again, those would be legitimate results on the pageant, and not pornographic material.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you--
A comment on the problem "OneRiot taking over my browser!" in OneRiot:
have you done this directly through the browser and then restarted? Also, we have a number of different add-ons that include OneRiot....such as our Facebook and Myspace toolbars, as well as our pulsechecker. They are not all labeled as OneRiot, so if you downloaded one of those, it would also explain how OneRiot is getting into your browser. – Jenniferlauren, on August 07, 2009 17:01

Just a quick thought before I email a product manager....Instead of going through add/remove programs, have you gone directly through your firefox browser? At your FF toolbar, you should have an option that says "tools." Click it, and then select addons. You will have the option to disable or uninstall. Choose uninstall this time rather than the disabling option. Do this w/ Twitterbar as well, as OneRiot has some features within Twitterbar. Restart your browser, and see if that makes a difference.
If it doesn't, let me know and I will see what else I can do. You may have already tried this, but just checking! Thanks again for your patience. – Jenniferlauren, on August 07, 2009 16:56
A comment on the question "how to remove 'oneriot'" in OneRiot:
Hi Steven,
So I checked with our product manager and OneRiot should absolutely not be interfering with Google Desktop, as our add-ons are for browsers.
Are you sure you uninstalled oneriot and did not just disable it?
Again, the uninstall instructions for IE8 are as follows:
control panel-
add/remove programs
remove all OneRiot/Me.dium/MySpace (This depends on the name of the add-on/toolbar you downloaded as they have a variety of different names.)
Hope this helps, I will be waiting for your reply. Thanks – Jenniferlauren, on June 09, 2009 22:53

Hey Steven, I'll do what I can to help you! When you say you can tell that OneRiot is still active, can you tell me what you mean? Do you see our icon in the toolbar? What is giving you that impression. (Knowing what you are seeing will help me with the uninstall.) Also, are you saying when you open internet explorer, it directs you automatically to OneRiot's homepage? That is an easy fix.
1: open up IE
2: click "tools" in the toolbar at the top of the IE browser
3. That should open a new window, click the "general tab"
4. Under "homepage" change it to whatever you want to open when you first start up IE
5. Click "OK"
Hope that helps. – Jenniferlauren, on June 06, 2009 22:49
Jenniferlauren replied on May 18, 2009 15:22 to the question "Sharing with Toolbar?" in OneRiot:
You're all set. If you've elected to download and install our toolbars and opted into our program then you are in fact contributing to our results. (Pretty easy, huh?) Additionally, you are also influencing our results if you share content on Digg or Twitter.
---So send us some sweet websites! We can't wait to see what you come up with.
-Thanks!
