Gary, so what you are trying to tell me is that I need to pay a protection plan fee each month on a device that Directv should support no matter what? When Comcast puts a box in your house which acts as the catalyst for service they support it. A year later the box could have an issue, they will bring a new one. The only protection fee you should be charging is on the wiring which of course can go bad if something happens to it. Directv told me that they only offer 30 days support on their box unless you have the protection plan. Directv is a RIPOFF for lack of a more suitable term, I think calling your protection plan and cost for service when NO support is offered what so ever a ripoff is letting you guys off light.
I don't care if it costs Directv more then $50 to send a tech out to my house, you are in a service business which means you need to support your service. You CAN NOT provide a monthly subscription service and not support it. Gary you should have stayed in bed and left this post alone, clearly you are not thinking with your head.
I have since canceled my Directv service, I had no problem paying the disconnection service but Directv will lose way more then my business as they have made enemies with me for life and I will NEVER suggest their service to anyone. In Directv's defense I hear that Dish Network is no better then they are, so if you have the ability to get Comcast or ATT Uverse or any other option then you should go with it. If you have disposable income and endless patience then you should go with Directv.
Thanks to this great website I was just able to broadcast this post to my 1000 Twitter followers and over 1000 Facebook friends. Way to see the bigger picture Directv!

Directv has poor customer support.I have a black screen, I called Directv and they said it would cost me $50 to get a tech out there. They offer no support to their customers. If you have a problem you are on your own unless you want to pay them more money.
