Fixed it for ya.

Thanks. We're supposed to pull data from geonames regularly, but I don't think we currently update the place names from it. I'll look into it.

Tom Insam replied on June 10, 2009 13:44 to the problem "Dopplr API:add_trip, iso 8601 date and Daylight savings time." in Dopplr:
Dopplr doesn't currently do time-level trip start/end points. The API is written the way it is for future expansion, so I don't break all API-using apps as and when Dopplr gets better at things. Sorry about the confusion there. You can send _just_ '2009-03-01' as the start/finish if you want to be sure about the day that Dopplr uses.

A comment on the question "Can I get a refreshed Annual Report?" in Dopplr:
They're all done, and you should have got a notification about it in a recent journal email! If yours hasn't been regenerated, can you drop me mail at ti@dopplr.com with your username and I'll have a look for you. – Tom Insam, on April 04, 2009 08:02

Tom Insam replied on March 16, 2009 21:30 to the question "Will Fire Eagle integration overwrite more precise location infos?" in Dopplr:
Fortunately, Fire Eagle itself does the Right Thing here. From http://fireeagle.yahoo.net/developer/... -
"In order to avoid conflicts where a more accurate location is overwritten by a less accurate one, Fire Eagle keeps any levels of the location hierarchy that have not been directly contradicted or updated by a subsequent update"
We just send the city information. Fire Eagle handles overwriting bad or not data.

I'm sorry about that. I had a stab at it, but couldn't see anything wrong in your calendar feed. Can you by any chance remember the name that was causing problems?
About the information leakage - It's true that if you give away the url, you're leaking things. This is why the url contains a token and is therefore unguessable - we don't really expect you to give it away to anyone. It's for your use. I'd prefer using proper HTTP auth for this personally, but so few calendar apps support this it doesn't work in practice.

Tom Insam replied on December 18, 2008 10:50 to the question "What is a blog endpoint?" in Dopplr:
The endpoint is a piece of MetaWeblog arcana that tells the Dopplr server how to talk to your blogging engine. Ideally this should have been auto-discovered when you told us the address of your blog - can you tell me where your blog lives so that I can try to find out why that didn't work?
Until then, there's a useful list of endpoints for various blogging engines here: http://ecto.kung-foo.tv/docs/pgs/tocE...
