    Last Sync Time Zones
How about time zone support in the Last Sync message on the Connections page of Soocial.com ?

A comment on the praise "What a rigamarole, but hey! It works!" in Soocial:

    No worries, I made backups.

My phone's a Nokia 2626, which I picked up when I got tired of the poor signal strength on my i-Mate. The 2626 has no bluetooth or USB connection, and only GPRS to get online, so it is hardly worth jumping through hoops just to put my address book contacts on there.

Having said that, it would be nice to go the other way and back up my phone contacts into the cloud without having to buy a data cable and install yet another kind of connectivity program on my computer. – jeremy, on November 16, 2008 05:01

At the moment, I sync my work Lotus Notes to my Pocket-PC with PDAsync, then ActiveSync my Pocket-PC into Outlook. My Active Desktop Calendar updates from Outlook, and now Outlook's contacts can get into the cloud using Soocial. From there it can sync into Gmail and down into Address Book on my Mac.

Actually, now that I know the firewalled work side works, I'll start from the other end with my nice organized Mac contacts.

At last all my contacts will be in-sync. Only my cheapo mobile phone isn't supported.

    Kudos!

    Authenticated isa proxy connection
Not so much a 'problem' as it is feedback...

At work, I'm on a domain-based network with an ISA server requiring authentication to get through the proxy to the internet.

Some programs will pick up the saved settings from Internet Explorer and just connect; most do not, so it wasn't a surprise when Soocial failed to connect. At the moment, the preference page is a bit sparse, so I searched for an ini file, and found none, and then looked in the registry and found what seemed like some relevant entries.

I added my proxy name, username, password, and port as well as changing useProxy to 1 in the registry under
    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1867356701-526408946-2865185682-9573\Software\Soocial\Outlook\spds\syncml\Conn

Even then it wouldn't connect until I manually added my username and password both on the soocial preferences and in the registry under:
    HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1867356701-526408946-2865185682-9573\Software\Soocial\Outlook\spds\syncml\Auth

At this point it connected and synced my one trial outlook contact up to the soocial cloud.

Adding these options into the gui would be a nice feature :-)

Now I need to get home to set up the other end on my Mac.

    Bravo and thanks.
