So I ended up doing just that, and it worked - I made a copy of phpMyAdmin in another spot, and created a virtual host pointing to that folder.
... And it accesses the databases just fine!
I think I'll not worry about the 403. Now I want to figure out how to move the actual databases to client folders, rather than storing them in the MAMP folder. Anyways, if anyone else is trying this, yes, you can just move the phpMyAdmin folder somewhere else, and it still accesses the databases in the MAMP folder...

If I didn't need access to my databases via phpMyAdmin, I probably would leave it all alone.
Alas, I do need that. Upgrading would require upgrading my OS. Probably should by now, but that seems likely to cause other problems.
I might see if I can just move my databases and phpMyAdmin to another spot - it would be nice to store the databases within client folders anyways. -

Running VirtualHostX 1, MAMP 1.7.2, OS 10.4.11.
I'm getting 403 Forbidden errors when trying to access my MAMP start page. I'm fairly sure this started happening after my computer lost power the other day.
The strange thing is that all my virtual hosts are working fine, but the MAMP start page is not.
I put a fresh install of MAMP 1.7.2 in place, then re-run the setup wizard in VirtualHostX, then went and turned off personal web sharing...
Any ideas?

I have the opposite problem - I just purchased the 2.0 license because I don't see how to get the 1.0 license. But I want to use 1.0 - still using 10.4/Tiger. So without upgrading my system, how can I register the 1.0 product? Just purchased today.
