Here's a interesting development of Facebook's policy of disable without warning or explanation...
I have a facebook account that I use to promote my companies magazine, Singletrack. I don't use the actual account itself but rather via the legitimate commercial mechanism of setting up a separate page for our magazine that I access via my facebook account. We also use the Facebook advertising system to purchase ads that promote our magazine. Crucially the financial part of this arrangement - bank account details.. daily budgets for each ad campaign.. etc are all controled via my Facebook account.
So, Facebook have disabled my account for an unspecified reason. Now I can't login and change our ads. But more worringly I can't now stop Facebook from continuing to run ads and automatically bill our bank account.
I've emailed facebook but they have made actually contacting them extremely difficult and the email address I used I found only by googling and coming across this website. No reply as yet.. it's been several hours and in that time our ad campaigns have continued to run and I can't stop them or change them. It would seem that in my case the only way I could stop them from taking money from our bank account is to contact our bank and get them to stop it. By the time that all happens I imagine we could have run up quite a bill. – singletrackmark, on September 08, 2008 10:43

So I have been a new user to Facebook and thought it was a fabulous way to network. Then one day, I discovered I got the 'disable' hand knocked upside my head. I couldnt figure out for the life of me why. So now I know. I subscribed to a ton of groups - all related to the same subject. What do I do to justify this? I am an educator of Endocrine disorders and fertility. I run a support group and I give advice online. I am connected to several companies that back me on this who are also on Facebook.
I dont know why they cant at least send a warning first. Its not like I am out there trying to get money, spam, or pick some kid up or something. Their actions made me feel like I was some sort of monster or something. Here I am helping the disadvantaged and desperate - with my free time and no rewards of any kind given to me - and I get rejected?!?!?! What the F?
Needless to say I am a bit P-O'd

FB is only catching the Small fish.
As usual the big one (professional spammers, abusers, etc) get away
Spammers usually have multiple profiles and are usually invisible. FB and
other network get better at reducing Spam, but will never be able to eliminate it.
Unfortunately, the real criminals and spammers are
- always one step ahead of the game, and
- usually get away
Most people who have replied to this thread probably are not the people
who deliberately want to cuase any damage to FB or to harass other users.
If a user has spent lots of time building up their Profiles, there is no point
in FB pulling it down permanently. It is much better to give warnings/penalise the person involved. These people shouls not be classed as Spammers/Criminals
FB must get a clear Policy on this area and fast

Dear Thor, Hello and greetings once again, I'm soooooo sorry to sound so anxious however. I was disabled once again. The virus tah was sent to me through face book was not my fault. I had explained that at least 4 emails were sent to me with a subject area having to do with nudity, sexual pictures, etc. A response was then sent to me that a KOOBLA virus was sent. Then I was reactivated. Now there is a statement on my account that I misused facebooks code of conduct. I never sent anything inappropriate. the virus was sent to me and then my friends on on my friends account. i think someone is playing a very nasty trick on me. I'm being blamed for something that i didn't do. Would you be so kind as to look into this situation for me. I did report the abuse to the abuse department. I thought everything was worked out on FB end. However now I again face this unfortunate situation. Please Thor, Refer to my other e-mails that I had sent to you. I did not cause this hateful act. Thank you for taking the time to read this e-mail and all of your cooperation. I would also like to suggest that there should be some component of FB that will not allow a virus to get into peoples mailbox. Have a nice day. This is very stressful. Take care. Msmelina

Since Sunday 17 August 2008 I have been e-mailing Facebook, and I am still waiting on a response.
I do not know whether Facebook has received my e-mails because I have TILL TODAY not got any confirmation from them?
Facebook request me to contact ...."Your account has been disabled by an administrator. Please contact disabled@facebook.com for more information. " ..........THOU I GET NO REPLY WHY?
I was disabled for making friend requests and sending messages for the application PACKRAT.
I did not get any notifications with regards to this, I was requested to log on again and notice that my account was disabled by the administrator.
I would really like for my account to be enabled again, certainly I believe that I was not doing anything like spamming. Please can you reactivate my account for me: it is my social network to the world as I live away from family and friends.
I had family and friends photos on there which I never backed up and now I do not have access to them, friends and family e-mails that I do not have, and now I cannot contact them either.
Would Facebook please give me another chance.

Well I am one more very upset "disabled" facebook user. I was logged on earlier, then logged off and later went to hop on again and received the dreaded" disabled" message. I was not given any information as to why. Just the generic message!
I am so upset. I'm a stay-at-home mom and I don't get out a ton because I have 2 small children. Facebook was a great way for me to keep in touch with people and just connect with other moms and friends. To have lost this would be so upsetting.
I have never done any spamming or excessive actions before. I received one "warning" message 3 months ago or so when I was adding friends to play the game app Packrat with, but I quit and nothing since then. This complete and total blackout is extremely frustrating.
I have sent 2 messages to the emails listed above and with my 2nd email I used the tactic Ty (I think?) wrote about - how he believed it to be an error due to the new app. I'm hoping that works. because truly I cannot think of a reason why they would have deleted me. Just an unfortunate error.
Does anyone have any advice? I am afraid to keep reading all the messages on here because so many have received the "final" NO email and it's so discouraging.
*sigh*
~Erika
