Hi Tod,
Not sure if I understand your reply.
I use the BlinkMTester sketch:
- Connect BLinkM to Arduino board
- Upload BlinkMTester
- Via serialmonitor set the address using the A command
- the a command will return the command I set
- Disconnect the Arduino board
- Reconnect the Arduino board
I get the follow message:
error: addr mismatch, addr received: FF
BlinkM not at expected address. Reset address with 'A' command
This seems to me that the BlinkM did not keep the address I set, isn't it?
How would I create 4 BlinkMs with different address so I could send separete command to each of them, like using the BlinkMMulti sketch?

Addressing BlinkM and make it stick...NEWBEE WARNING! --- How do you program the I2C address to the BlinkM? When I try this, it will report the new address when using the a command in the BlinkMTester, however when disconnecting the BlinkM to program the address of the next one, it seems to have lost the address when reconnecting the first BlinkM. I've tried this with four different BlinkM and 1 BlinkM MaxM.
I've read some other posts on this forum, but could not deduct the basics of programming the address.
Should the BlinkM retain its address when unpowered?
- if so, what would be the sequence to do so?
- if not, what would be the sequence to program several units all connected at once?
Could you let your light shine on this one?
Thanks,
Best regards,
Jeroen
jeroen steman reported a problem in ThingM on June 24, 2009 07:44:
BlinkM MaxM - all 3 LEDs light up - no further responseThis week week I received my order of two BlinkM Maxm and four Blink through Sparkfun.
I seem to have a problem with one of the BlinkM MaxM.
When connecting this one to the Arduino board, all three LEDs light up however no further response.
The other one and the BlinkMs seem to work fine
Using the BlinkMTester example there is no response from the BlinkM MaxM board. Also using the BlinkMCommunitor in combination with the sequencer does not work for this BlinkM, while both methods work with the other BlinkM boards.
I have tried both the configuration using power from the Arduino board as well as a external stabilised 9V supply.
Do you know how to correct for this or does this indicate a defect?
Thanks for your support,
