It hangs looking for cookies. Downloaded some sort of registration patch wizard after searching "knowledge base." Installed that. Still hangs. No tech support online! WinXP

Thanks James. I worked through that already (rebooting everything, checking the cable, etc.)

The phone is not recognized by iTunes, and now I'm trying mobileme as a workaround and I can't log on -- have gone to iForgot, had info emailed to me, changed my password twice, etc.

I can't sync my iPhone to my mac laptop. This is new. I've done it before. Not only will iTunes not see the phone, but iSync won't either. It will be picked up by bluetooth, but I can't sync it that way. The cable does work to *charge* the iphone, but not to sync it. iPhone is v2, MacOSX 10.4, iTunes is 8.
