A lot depends on the size of your monitor or screen.
The more frequently used sizes are 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 768.
If your screen is larger than that, then it might be better to check the display settings of your machine to get the exact size. In Windows, you'd find that under Control Panel --> Display Settings.
The other factor is how much space the browser takes at the top of the screen. My suggestion is to leave the bottom of your image as empty as possible so you don't lose anything if the bottom of the image gets cut off when it is displayed.-
