iPod and iTunes won't talk?

My computer crashed and when I installed iTunes again it would not restore the files to the previous settings. Every time I plug in my iPod, it asked to erase and sync. I don't want to do that because I want what is on my iPod....not what is on the newest iTunes? Is there a way to get the iTunes back to iPod settings?

When I download a document from an email, it does not give me a choice which folder I want it to go into? Can you tell me how to do that?

I want to merge two accounts. I don't know how I got two and the variation is so minimal. JetSetBrandee and JetSetterBrandee....how can I merge the two? Thank you!
