I have the same issue with my Mac OS X - tried uploading all sorts of files (PDF, Word, jpg, etc.) on various sites (Yahoo Mail, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) in Firefox and it's the same issue. It's definitely a Firefox thing - I tried uploading in Safari - no problem. My next step is to uninstall and reinstall Firefox. Luckily in Mac it's just a simple delete, download, and move in the new file. Aaah soooo much easier than dealing with Windows and corrupt dll's.
