I recommend the installation offer a list of suggested problems and solutions, e.g. if this fails, check and adjust your firewall settings -- along with simple steps on how to check.

Turned off firewall and it worked. Thank you. A Catch-22. Turn off you security so you can get security. There must be another way?

New Trial will not download update. It says current definition version: 0. System Event Details says download of threat definitions failed due to internet connection problems. Not a great start.
