BTOpenzone hotspots - issues!I was under the impression that my iPhone contract gave me access to BTopenzone wireless hotspots. This is my sole method of accessing the internet currently but I cannot use it without subscribing at £40/month. When I select O2 as a provider at login and enter my phone number it throws back errors at me (and always has done). I have also checked I am entering the number associated with 'MyO2' online.
If I don't have access this way then it should probably be made more obvious so dunderheads like myself don't ask things like this!

If you need to easily create keyboard shortcuts for things then AutoHotKey is usually quite good for that sort of thing - link here: http://www.autohotkey.com/. Requires a little scripting but I have next to no knowledge and managed to get it to automate even scanning procedures in a lab I work in.
On my laptop i have shortcuts in the CTRL+[letter] format for Dropbox, Spotify, iTunes and such.
A comment on the idea "How about adding an upload service to Spotify?" in Spotify:
If it's a premium feature and strictly personal, the company could probably cover itself in the Terms & Conditions? – JimGR, on September 09, 2009 16:16-

There's no minimum term, that's why I signed up. You can cancel it later in the month if it's not for you. If you give it the whole month then you can test out various places, offline synching and what-not and give it a full run-out. I see your point with regards to wasting money if it doesn't work.
Although, I've been using it on the iPhone for 2/3 days now - I don't think you'd get a proper test out of it in one day anyway to be honest. And you get the benefit of no ads on the desktop in the meantime...-

JimGR reported a problem in Google on September 09, 2009 14:12:
Repeating location in Quick-AddI'm possibly putting stuff in wrong but whenever I use quick add it repeats the location. For instance if I put in "(Event-x) at (Location-x) at (Time-x)" it always give the event the title "(Event-x) at (Location-x)" and also lists the location as (Location-x).
I find this intensely annoying as I then need to go and edit the event title, which rather defeats the point. Same thing happens when I put the location at the end of the string after the time/date. Is there a way to avoid this happening or is it a 'feature' to make location more obvious.
JimGR replied on September 09, 2009 13:52 to the idea "iTunes should let you choose which podcast episodes to sync" in Apple:
I came on here to suggest this, glad to see I'm not the only one. For instance, I would quite like to keep most of a video podcast I have on my iPhone/iPod as they are only 20 secs each but conversely I don't want weeks and weeks of "Football Weekly" cluttering it up but I can only put settings for all podcasts at once.
As you say, making playlists doesn't really cut it either. It's an oversight in my opinion.-

JimGR asked a question in Twitter on September 09, 2009 12:38:
Accessing old tweets far too complicated - easier way?Is there any easy way to access all your old tweets, for linking purposes or such? You can only browse so far back. The only way I could do it I came across by accident as a result of browsing TwitterTees. Surely there is an easier way than this?
JimGR shared an idea in Google on September 09, 2009 12:28:
GMail Labels: Idea to make them more usefulI have an idea, which I curiously can't find elsewhere on GS. The ability to give labels (which are awesome, by the way) a extra sorting level, if you like. I have a label called "Web Accounts" for things such as Get Satisfaction, Technorati, Flixster, Dropbox and such as I don't want to make a separate label for each and every account. I would however, like to be able to find everything from, say, Flixster in one go without some horrible search operator like "label:web AND flixster". So a sub-label which could be expanded out from the main label as if it was a top directory - Web Accounts/Flixster - would be ideal.
The functionality is achieved in Gina Trapani's Better GMail Firefox add-on [link] but it would be nice if it was baked in as I no longer use Firefox and use Chrome.
JimGR replied on September 09, 2009 11:08 to the idea "Offline Spotify" in Spotify:
This really would be a fantastic addition. i'm assuming that it is legally possible as you can do this very same thing in the mobile apps. As someone who frequently finds myself without an internet connection on my laptop I would welcome this. Spotify was my default music player and had well and truly beaten out iTunes and any other players I had used until I was forced to take my computer offline, as I have no internet connection at my current residence and can't use it at work (would get slap on wrist for bandwidth usage).
